Differential Change Step By Step

Does anyone have the step by step instructions to change out the differential fluid?

Thanks!

locate the fill plug and drain plug its on the driver side i believe. drain plug is lower. fill plug higher. make sure you loosen the fill plug first(higher plug)...you dont want to drain the fluid and find out you cant get the fill plug off. its messy, it smells, its a pain in the butt to get the fluid in. buy 2 quarts because you will spill some. i jacked up the driver side rear only. loosened both plugs and lowered to level. after fully drained...jacked back up, tightened drain plug and pumped the fluid in with a pump from autozone. pump till it flows out. you cant overfill cuz it will just pour back out..once its full i lowered back down to level and then back up. this allowed the fluid to level out and then i tightened the fill plug and done. wear clothes your willing to toss in the trash cuz the fluid doesnt wash out. i did this in a PT uniform shirt like a moron and had to throw away. good luck its easy. sorry i dont have pics.

oh and make sure the car has been cooled down for a few hours. you will be maneuvering over exhaust pipes and they stay hot for awhile!

Don't forget to do the tight figure 8's when you're done - this is required to work the fluid into the clutch packs and prevent whining and possible damage...

Figure 8's

I got to do a couple rounds of figure 8's in the parking lot before people started wondering ... What the hell is that idiot doing?

So far everything is smooth and quiet
