Is This a Mistake? V6 A6 Tranny Only Rated for 315 hp?

So I was looking at the GM Powertrain web site, and looked at the A6 used in the V6 Camaro (select "transmissions," then select the 6-speed auto with code "MYB"), and under the listed specs, it says, "Maximum engine power: 315 bhp (235 kw)."

How can that be, when the '12 and up models make 323 hp? Or is it the bhp that makes the difference?

Hmmm... Looking at the definition of bhp leads me to believe that if anything, the bhp figure could actually be higher than the standard hp measured at the crankshaft - or at least the same: "Brake horsepower (bhp) is the measure of an engine's horsepower before the loss in power caused by the gearbox, alternator, differential, water pump, and other auxiliary components such as power steering pump, muffled exhaust system, etc."

Which means the LFX engine exceeds the hp rating of the transmission it's paired with. And that's before mods.

I am confused...

I believe they are rated for right around stock hp, however it's usually not the hp that kills a Trans, it's torque and traction.

This is like a bad flash back to my gxp Grand Prix, you can destroy that thing with out trying or even modding for that fact.
