I am in a rim dilemma. ADVICE PLEASE!!!!

Hey everybody,

I have 22s on my 2011 SS. They are Savini sm-3 (with a matte black finish). I have my stock 20-inch RS wheels sitting right in the corner of my garage. I do have ground effects on the vehicle so with the 22s on, it looks exactly like the batmobile. Anyway, it definitely makes me feel as if my camaro is a slug. I can still sell the wheels with the tires back and make a huge profit for what I paid for them. I was thinking of slapping my 20s back on and getting them powdercoated. I do like the "slow, laid-back" attitude with the 22s because I am not speeding everywhere I go. Plus, they turn heads EVERYWHERE. But with the 20s, I feel as if i robbed my camaro of its true performance potential. Plus, a few extra MPGs wouldn't hurt but thats not a main concern. Should I go through with the hassle of selling the 22s and getting my stocks powdercoated? These Savini wheels are extremely rare and NOBODY has them on in their camaro in the area I live in so that is pretty unique, but if i powdercoat the rims, its just going to be another "black camaro". what do you think??

I would try the plasticoat. Saw it on a thread earlier. Can paint rims in a matt black for a lot less and peel off later if you need to. Just a suggestion.

Wow....if you like the 22's then just put in a cam and some headers and enjoy the performance and the looks. Get that power up!

As Stewcam says, add more power!

My 22s never felt sluggish with the supercharger under the hood.

I recently went through the same decision making process. I've decided keeping the 22s. They make the car look unique. When I put my stock wheels back on recently, they made the car look blah. I put in a supercharger and a cam to help. You might also want to do some suspension mods to make those 22s have better traction. That will help.

you say you could sell the 22s for "huge profit" but who would pay that much more for them used if they could get them cheaper new?? anyway up the power and you will be fine.

well considering I paid less (way less... think 70 percent off of the 6000 pricetag) than their worth, and they are WORTH 5,000 EASILY in the condition right now. Once i get them painted again, I can make the money i spent back and much more. i've had people offer me 4500-6,000 for these rims. More money than sense perhaps but ehh who gives
