Excellent video! I'll be forwarding this the installer for my stripes. Every little bit will help. I just need to figure out how to do this without insulting him and his skills!

I have seen his work and it looks great. He is in my area 5 miles from my house and will be doing my SS if I don't go with paint. The video makes it look easy but will leave it to the experts since ATD is so close.

Thanks for the vid. You can't forward an installation video to an installer without offending him. Best thing you can do is if you bought the stripes with the car, let the dealer handle it. If it gets screwed up 10 times it's not your bag. And after two if there still is a problem I would seek your own installer at the dealers expense. At that point you can grill your installer of choice indicating the two previous failures and denutting the third installer if another failure should occur. JMO

installers should not be doing wet application, your vinyl will last longer and usually have less bubbles

This was a professional shop doing this install, whats your qualifications that allows you to say they are in error?

I don't see anyone, short of a robot, applying a graphic that large dry. It would have placed perfectly the first time it touches the surface. Vinyl does not remove intact when stuck to a dry surface.

ive been installing graphics for 5 years, im not trying to bash them by nay means just trying to be informative, plus 3M not offers bubble free material that is repositionable until its ready to be applied, for the unexperienced person wet application would def be the way to go .

well we have been doing this for 22 years and I would love to see anybody try this dry....I'll watch for that video....and this is a good video here...but as you can tell from the cuts in and out...you can make it look SO easy on TV !!!! they also never did give a close up of after the instal either ?? and from all the info about how many have been screwed up trying to get installed might just be a clue....and the fact that GM chooses not to intall most of them ?? none of the cars that have come into out local dealership have had the stripes on, even if there was a charge on the window sticker for them...think the install is to long for their liking during production..on or off site...Rob

although its ok to do a wet install, most exp installers will do it dry, and get it right the first time and take alot less time too

My wife and I used this video as a guide to install our rally stripes and it really helped. We did a wet install and it took us 2 1/2 hours. Went pretty good, and the stripes came out awesome!

I've done a lot of vinyl installs and would never attempt to do this graphic dry. One screw up and you bought $400 worth of vinyl!
