Would it be worth it to trade in?
I have a 2015 camaro v6 LS, which I bought about a month ago. It cost around 23,000$ because 2,500 rebate(not sure if it counts in the process) . I really like the new camaros though, would Chevy typically decrease the value of my car? Would be looking to trade in for the new v6 as well

The best thing to do is check KBB to see what the trade in value should be.

As soon as you drive it off the lot, the value is decreased. This is called depreciation. Since the 6th gen is so new right now, they probably won't be dealing on the price like they would on a leftover 2015.
Also, the 6th gen V6 is now considered an uplevel option above the base LTG turbo 4cyl. On the 5th gen, the same basic V6 was the base powertrain. So, now you are paying more for what used to be standard equipment. |

Typical depreciation through "normal" use is 20% first year, 10% more year two and 10% more year three. Many other factors come into play, but this is a general baseline.

Best way to find out what the best course of action is would be to get trade-in estimates and deal with a few salesmen in terms of trying to figure out what the dealer would give you for your car if you were to trade towards a new one. However, like MikosV6 said, don't expect too much wiggle room on the 2016's, considering they're going to be so new and in such high demand (why give Guy A a break on pricing when Guy B is ready to pay sticker)

You're not going to get hit as hard with the model you purchased due to the lower price, but you're probably lucky if you break even at this point. More than likely still a bit upside down.

When I got my 2ls in August I did KBB a week later and in excellent condition it was 17k. That's 10k less than the sticker on my Bright yellow with stripes was. It is not worth it.

No, you will be upside down.
Just make extra payments to the car or save up for a big down payment.. for the most part Im keeping my v6 and just getting a 6th Gen V8 with no trade in so I dont have to deal with that low ball BS from the dealership.

A month ago when you purchased your 2015 1LS, the 2016 was already displayed. I assume you are considering this after seeing a 6th gen in person. Good luck with the decision you make.

Decided not to do it. I didn't wait for the 6th gen because I really needed a car at the moment. Thanks for the help

My honest opinion is to keep your current car. keep it for a year or 2. I say that because your car has been built at the end of the 5th gen cycle. It doesn't have any "glitches". It should be a great reliable car for you. As mentioned by other posters you will loose money on your current 2015 and I think the first 6th Gens will come with a PREMIUM because it will be in high demand right at the get go. Most consumers don't care what they pay for the newest toy if they are the first one on their block to have it. These new cars (6TH GEN) are awesome. I expect someday down the line I will get myself one too. Whenever a new Gen/or all new model comes out there usually are major glitches or something that becomes problematic ( i.e. new Mustang issues). I am not saying that there will be but there is always the unknown with something completely new. For now I will continue loving my 2013 ZL1 and watch how the new one goes. Again it is a GREAT looking car. As a convertible fan it is about time they finally built a convertible where the tonneau cover is incorporated into the body like a BMW. I hope to purchase a 6th gen ZL1 vert when they become available. Good luck with your decision which ever direction you choose
