Location of Hash Marks
Looks like everyone uses a different starting point at the front of the fender

I thought HASH MARKS were really only for the drivers side of cars (to be proper)??
I dont like the look of both sides - IMHO |

If you don't mind me asking, what did it cost for that?

I spent just under $500 at a local shop (Don't Drive Naked) for the re-wrap, hash marks, and the gill stripes.

Exactly! It was always my understanding that they were placed on cars in the 24 Le Mans. Since drivers were from different countries (right hand drives), the hash marks were placed on the driver's side so the incoming driver would know which side the steering wheel was on. A second theory has been if a racing team had more than one car, they'd put one stripe on the first car, two on the second, so and so forth.

Fender hash marks began at the IROC races. Each car was identical and there were more than a couple of instances where the pit crews would run out in front of a car they thought was their driver only to be hit, or nearly missed because it wasn't their car.
They began putting hash marks, specific to their particular car/driver, on the left front fender so pit crews could easily identify their car/driver.
