2012 45th Hood Stripe Removal?

I put in my order over a month ago for a 45th 2SS.. the only thing i can't get off my mind is whether or not i'm going to like the racing stripes on the hood. I kinda think the "45" looks corny on the hood.

Has anybody tried to remove them after they've received their car?
I could just have the dealer get me one without it, but i'd like to see it first with the stripes. If there's no way to remove them safely then i may just delay receiving the car and have them get me one without stripes.

I think the dealer puts the stripes on when they get the car. You could just have them leave the stripes off.

Pretty sure no one on this forum who has ordered a 45th has gotten theirs yet, so hard to answer that question.

Wait until you get the car, drive it for awhile then make the decision. Ive seen on here those who didnt like the stripes up until they actually saw the car at one of the GM shows and changed their mind.

They are put on at the factory, not the dealer.

I believe the stripes on the cars are just vinyl decals. Should be able to be removed with a hair dryer or heat gun.

I would definitely wait a couple weeks after the stripes are on your car and you've drove it around..they may grow on you..you dont want to NOT get them and regret it later..itll cost you.
I personally like the 45th stripes..sets em apart nicely with the multi colored stripes n all.

+1

I also like that the stripes are asymmetrical...the red insert is only on the driver's side.

You could just re-order the car with the stripe delete option. However, if you want to add them later, it could be big bucks.

I had some custom made. Mine have RS instead of the 45.

If you think it looks corny then why did you buy it? That car could have some collect ability in the future and needs to be stock.
