Back when my wife and I were dating, I decided I was going to impress her and wash her car while she was at work in the month of February. I am in the Houston area and it usually doesn't get that cold around here. Well long story short... I washed the car, just could dry it because the water was freezing pretty much as soon as it hit the car. That was probably the worst car wash I ever did.

Did that once on my 94 camaro. Doors froze shut. That was a fun one...

I wash the new one at night all the time...damn bugs drive me nuts. Wife already thinks I'm certifiable, so not sure those actions have really changed her impressions much...

before I had a garage many years ago. I had a yellow 79 trans am that had to sit out. I used to use the hose to melt the snow off of it so I wouldn't have to use any kind of brush on the paint. My neighbor thought I was crazy.

You can get the lights at any athletic store and most hardware stores. Hardware stores sell them for those of us swinging a hammer in dark corners who like to have both hands, and athletic stores sell super-bright LED "head"-lights for runners. I have a running light with an adjustable head-strap, think mine was like $25. My Dad got one that has 6 LED lights and clips to the underside of the visor on a baseball cap for about $10 not that long ago.

I carry one of those California Silicon Squeegees with me and as long as it's just light rain, I'll go over my cars when I get home and it's raining. I'm with you in spirit OP.

My dad made us take our shoes off before we got in his cars , and we had to wash our hands. Now I beat the hell out of his vette when I get in it. He's too old to get mad anymore.
