Plus GM has to keep those cars A) reliable and B) smog legal in all states. Not everyone can mod their car the way some people can due to state laws. I used to think that the Camaro would be second place to the Corvette but the fact is the ZL1 is only second to the ZR1 in HP. It beats out the Z06 by 75 HP. Maybe GM believes that 580 HP is the limit that the Camaro chassis can put down without too much wheel spin without needing upgraded parts which would make it cost significantly more. There's a point where the ZL1 can cost so much that some people may say for only X dollars more I can get a Corvette Z06. |

I had read somewhere that the LS3 was going to get a 20hp bump. Should be easy to do. Surprised it did not happen for 2013. Figured the 1LE would have got it.

Everyone should remember as well that 2014 is supposed to be the debut of the C7 Corvette which should get Hp bumps across the board. This will give the Camaro some breathing room for hp bumps.

No matter what configuration any manufacturer comes out with regardless if it's GM or Ford, or Chrysler, etc, there will be simple mods to make it better. There has to be a balance somewhere between feasability, cost, reliability, etc. I'm just tickled to death to get a machine like the ZL1 that comes WITH a factory warranty, and is MEANT and DESIGNED to run on both the track and the strip. |

I would say the top model challenger is a joke. 470hp for 50grand. I have been in one and driven it down the highway and out in town. I just don't see it coming up to Chevy and Ford.

Now I will have to say the hood scoops are funuctional. They would probably get some more hp if they add a supercharger to the 392 that is in the yellow jacket.

I'm shooting for '14 and/or '15 if its really gonna be badass.
I am a diehard chevy fan, but not for anything...if the match up between the ford and chevy ends up being lopsided without a chevy rebuttal, then I may not buy either one.
