Why Auto?

So i finally saw a ZL1 in a parking lot the other day and i was window looking as i walked by and noticed it was an automatic... now i would assume if your buying a ZL1 you can drive stick...even if you cant its not hard to learn... why would someone really buy a auto ZL1...an SS makes sense just dont see the ration in a ZL1

don't get me wrong though, I love driving a stick. But the Fbodfather himself said he would buy an automatic ZL1. You know, if he ever actually had to pay for one.

I could use some lunch control, maybe shed a few pounds.

Lots of other opinions here.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ight=automatic

I know very well how to drive a stick and I've had plenty of them. But I plan to drive this to work everyday, as long as the weather is decent. It gets really old driving a manual transmission in traffic. I also wanted to experience the tapshift and thought it would make for a more fun experience on the track.

Didn't we just have this discussion? It's personal preference and Chevy was smart to offer the ZL1 with an auto.

after having both auto and manual 2010 SS's there is no way id ever wish i got an auto ZL-1. whatever lead the auto got in the 60ft the manual would reel in before tracks end. the auto was great for the wife cuz she could run consistant times just revving the car up on the brakes before launch when id be having a way tougher time keeping my launch consistant. i also dont like the look of the interior console on the auto.
