1695.14 compared to 585.90 to be exact... seems there may be more going on than just the red paint.. if so an already GREAT performance package has just gotten better!!

I would like more information on this difference in calipers. It is hard to believe that there is an advantage since GM never listed an advantage when discussing the 1LE package.

The red callipers we have are the exact same ones that were/are used on the Synergy Series cars. Best I can figure is that red paint in limited numbers is EXPENSIVE. The exploded parts view and accompanying parts list of all the brembos are the same across the SS lineup.

Based on the presentation of the 1LE package, I would believe this to be true...but damn thats some expensive paint (or powdercoat).

It stands to reason that the special order paint ones are going to be more expensive, you're talking a few thousand red calipers versus (don't know the actual production number) over the 10's of thousands of Camaro SS cars built from 2010 through today. That they are that much more is crazy.

Well baby's home, and safe in the garage with new calipers. My service manager said that GM's panties were all in a wad about my picture. It will be interesting to see what transpires from this issue.

Payin $1600 for a caliper thru GM is like NASA paying $5k for a toilet seat... There's more efficient ways to accomplish the goal lol...
I concur with the above statement.

You'll find the same thing with the six piston CTS-V calipers. Same Brembo caliper except color. I just got a brand new set of the yellow CTS-V calipers for $516.00 for the pair plus shipping. The silver calipers are $680 for the pair and the red CTS-V calipers are $1718 for the pair. No difference except the color. I figure I can get the yellow removed and the calipers powdercoated in red for a whole lot less than $1200.

FYI Rock Auto has the 1LE four piston red caliper front or rear for $1022 EACH!!!
