Wednesday 8:30am.. MVA

MVA - Motor Vehicle Accident.

Yep, it's true, on Wednesday @ 8:30am I was involved in a MVA that involved 2 other vehicles.

The MVA:

I was heading Northbound on Hurontario (Main Street) just passing Clarence. I was in the LEFT (passing) lane. The vehicle infront of me a gold Nissan Pathfinder was about 5 - 6 car lengths away. We were in a staggered same lane formation and I observed a Brown MiniVan apply the breaks hit the left turn signal, and make a hard left down Fredrick Street.

This knee jerk decision resulted in the Pathfinder applying breaks to avoid a rear end collision. Following suit, with my 5-6+car length gap I applied the breaks. I came to a complete stop with about a car length amount of room separating myself from the Nissan Pathfinder. Recognizing the domino effect I immediately looked at my rear view mirror. I observed a large SUV nose down approaching very quickly my rear end. I could hear the lockup of the tires. What seemed like an hour only took seconds. But in those seconds I did the following:

Look up, and recognize I am about to be hit
Grab the seatbelt arround me and yank it as tight as possible
Watch the rear view mirror awaiting the very last second before impact.
I said "oh f**K*
** BANG **
I get creamed into by this SUV slamming me into the rear end of the Pathfinder.

Long story short
100% not at fault,
My daily driver is complete writeoff
Vehicle that hit me from behind was in excess of 50km/hr
Vehicle that hit me from behind was 100% at fault.

Only person to sustain injuries - Me.
been to the doctors, and now doing physio for severe whiplash.

Anyways, just thought y'all would be interested to hear how my Wednesday that just passed went.

edit:: I have lost every phone number / contact piece of information. During the accident my phone was tossed and fried itself. I was able to restore the phone but in the process lost all contacts. So, for those of you who do know me, feel free to shoot me a PM with a number that I can reach you .

Cheers, happy safe motoring.
(And yes, I will post pictures as soon as possible).

Holy crap Joe, glad you came out of that with minor injuries, it could have been worse. Hope the physio is working and just take it easy.

Wow! Gotta love that Camaro safety testing!!! Glad you are not seriously hurt & sorry about your baby having such a short life. I've been rear-ended with the joy of seeing it coming as well and it definitely isn't fun....I think I would rather not have seen it coming, because knowing it was coming, even in microseconds, just made everything tense up and hurt worse. Good thing? Just in time for that ZL-1!!!! Hope you get feeling better soon!!

Sure glad you are OK, and happy that it wasn't your camaro. I know how much you love the black beast. Get better soon. Luckily you are in good shape and young, and should recover well.

I learned years ago that if person A's vehicle makes contact with the REAR of pearson B's vehicle, no matter what the circumstance, the insurance companies view person A 100% at fault no matter what. Even if some old lady backed out of her driveway onto a busy street without looking and gets rear-ended. Stupid eh? Just another way the insurance companies make money in our supposed "no-fault" system.

Glad to hear nothing serious Joe. Recover well my friend. Those kinds of injuries can linger if not taken care of. I'll text you my number when I get a chance.

Count your lucky stars that........ it was not your Camaro & that you only have whiplash, you will heal up soon. Phones and contact info can be replaced, your life cannot.
