Know-It-All future Camaro owner

So I'm at the dealer today checking out their black 2SS/RS auto and another customer pulls in and hops out of his truck...with one of those bluetooth phones hanging off his ear. Not a good sign. We start chattin and he says he thought it might be his because he ordered a black 6-speed, but no, this one's an auto and it's not an RS. I say, "Really?" 'cause I was pretty sure it was. I head to the front and say, "Yeah, it's got halos. This is an RS." "No, it doesn't have RS badges."

You see where this is going. I tried to explain that red SS badges means SS/RS, that RS only appears on 6s blah blah blah. No dice. Not just disagreement; belligerent I-know-what-I'm talking-about-you-don't proclamations. Of course the young lot guy agrees that V8 RSs come with RS badges, so he's no help. Finally, I meekly point out the tag on the window which reads - wait for it - OPTIONS:RS PACKAGE. Did that help? Of course not, the wheels were silver, not dark gray! I didn't even bother. A pre-order customer who's never been to Camaro5.com and doesn't know every possible fact about his car. That's just weird.

Wait'll his car comes in and he starts informing his dealer they screwed up his order. That's gonna be a loooong day.

As a matter of fact...yes! The combination of ignorance and arrogance really got under my skin. I was THIS close to shouting YOU. ARE. AN. IDIOT! But I had a couple of developmentally disabled guys nearby in my Civic and figured getting in a brawl on the clock would be a bad idea. I hope I manage to get there when he picks his car up. It's gonna be a show.

I always want to punch people in the teeth when they walk around with a bluetooth headset while they arent even talking on it... like what the f*ck is THAT important that you need to have your phone strapped to your ear all the time.

i know how you feel, i've met more than a fair share of people who seem to have those same qualities. seems like they have trouble saying "oh, really? i had no idea that's how badging works. cool"

and i can't believe he was still in denial after showing him the spec sheet
"well actually sire, you're correct. this is no RS, obviously i must be wrong. GM happens to quite enjoy posting random packages on spec sheets to confuse the heck out of customers"

headsets are mandatory on cell's while driving up here, not sure what the rules are in the states, so i've gotten sort of used to them. i don't mind people driving using them, but when tools are walking down the street empty handed talking away to themselves it's pretty annoying.

Hands-free cell-phone use in cars is mandatory here in CA., too, but for some reason only normal people use ear-bud headsets. The bluetooth-on-the-ear phone automatically turns all guys into Incredibly Happenin' Dudes. Gotta get me one of those.
