FS: 1999 Sierra 1500 5.3 / 5 Speed 4x4

…not the factory unicorn; I built this one, so I’m literally shedding a tear as I write this because the day I never thought would happen has come… after 14 wonderful years, Penny is for sale I’ll soon need a back seat & can’t justify keeping both trucks + my car + my wife’s truck, so our tragic loss will most-definitely be someone’s gain!

1999 GMC Sierra 1500 SL 4x4 (1GTEK14W2XZ514023)
• 5.3L (205k on engine)
• NV4500 (2k on trans)
• Just under 251k total miles (but will go up a little as I daily drive)
• Located near Abilene, TX

I’d like to get $6,969.69 for her, and here’s exactly why you should jump all over that:

Custom-ordered with the SL package (chrome, carpet, sliding window, etc.) and a manual transmission, this “professional grade” Southern truck’s a couple steps above the primarily base model Chevy 5 speed rowboats you’ll see out there with the vinyl bench seats & floors (if you can even find a decent one). It ain’t got some of the fancy bells & whistles like power windows, locks, or seats… but you know how many of those switches, regulators, or actuator motors I’ve had to change? Zero; these simply work all the time. Also, the only rust is on the cheap Chinese ex-chrome center caps, in a couple small scratches on the bed, and the usual light surface stuff underneath for a TN, FL, TX vehicle (which saw four SD winters but was hosed down every few weeks). This baby’s solid: all the sheet metal is good, and I wouldn’t hesitate to load her up to 10k gross with my trailer & drive across the country again (which was my July 4th plan until I bought the diesel last week).

For this price, not only do you receive all the aesthetic mods & add-ons (like OEM projector upgrade, HIDs, shaved antenna, fog lights, trailer mirrors, a locking metal bed cover, electronic brake controller, custom colored & LED gauges, custom-made purple LED interior lights, etc.), you'll also be getting over $6900 in new powertrain upgrades alone over the last 3 years (25k mi)! I replaced the t-case/u-joints Summer 2017, added a cam/spring/pushrod kit Spring 2018, and upgraded to to the stronger NV4500 transmission from the HD trucks (with a Core/Hurst short throw shifter) this New Year. How can you beat a deal like that?!

Now I don’t pretend this 21 year-old beauty is perfect - and please don’t ask because I’ll tell you every little flaw I’ve found over the last decade because I believe in honesty - but I’ve taken care of her & she’s returned the favor. There are a handful of cosmetic items I’ve been okay living with over the years, but she’s mechanically good to go. If you dig around on the forums, you’ll find me talking about almost anything & everything concerning this truck over the last 10yrs or so. (my camaro5 garage page with extra details and pt.net build thread for starters)

No real wrecks that I'm aware of... only 3 small bumps: 1st slightly dented the rear bumper @ 2mph, 2nd cracked a wheel center cap when an MR2 kissed it, and 3rd lightly scuffed my chrome bumper against a plastic bumper @ 2-3mph. To my knowledge, no airbag deployments or body work ever needed.

Feel free to ask me anything about it; I’ll shoot straight with you. I’ll also provide the buyer with a clean, non-branded title & bill of sale along with receipts for the lifetime warranty parts still on the truck. Reasonable offers will also be considered.

Interesting and/or significant events (and this list is SEVERELY truncated for the ad):
• Nov 06 (126k): Bought, I think, a one-owner
• Feb 07: Smoked LED tail lights (before they were a dime-a-dozen) that are still kicking
• Apr 08: Rotors + ceramic pads all around
• May 08: Added fog lights behind grille
• Nov 09 (148k): Swapped the V6 for an 01 LM7 5.3 (103k mi) + new clutch/slave
• May 10 (15xk): Cleared a set of factory Denali headlights + 35W 6000K HID + 4-high mod + converted DRL to blinker & installed current wheels / shocks (Bilstein HD… which are finally soft enough @ 100k mi to complement the current tires)
• Jan 11: 1 3/4” stainless LT headers + ORY + EGR delete
• Dec 11: Pitman/idler arms
• Nov 12 (183k): Falken Rocky Mountain (same as Wild Peak) 285/75-16 & rotated every 5k mi… almost replaced these last week based on age but got a new truck instead, however, all are evenly worn & have a few 32nds left
• Sep 14 (199k): Motive 4.30s, TrueTrac, rear ceramic brake pads + rotors + calipers
• Dec 14 (200k): ACDelco fuel pump
• Sep 15 (20xk): Peragon locking aluminum toneau cover
• Jan 16 (208k): 145amp alternator & belt
• Jul 16 (213k): Upper control arms, ball joints, inner tie rods, & battery
• Mar 17 (219k): Reman NV3500 & LuK clutch/slave
• Apr 17 (220k): OEM trailer mirrors
• May 17 (223k): Latest exhaust setup = Dynomax side-exit
• Jul 17 (225k): Reman NP261 t-case with pump rub kit + u-joints
• Aug 17 (225k): Polk 6.5" and 4"x6" 2-way speakers
• Dec 17 (229k): Coolant flush & new AC compressor
• Mar 18 (233k): BTR 219/224 cam (truck stg3), springs, pushrods, TR55s, & gas cap
• Oct 19 (246k): New windshield
• Jan 20 (248k): Reman NV4500 swap + flywheel & LuK clutch/slave + Core/Hurst shifter
• May 20 (250k): New ceramic tint, reman steering box + PS fluid flush, & new wipers
• June 20 (251k): Pulling into your driveway!
And there’s plenty more detail & history where that came from, if you want it.

Dang - if this is what it feels like to give your daughter away at the altar... I'm praying for all boys!!
