GM card

hi folks, so i've got my camaro and low and behold, a friend of mine has managed to rack up some good coin on his GM card and he wants me to put that GM credit to use. He doesn't have a gm car so he wants me to spend it - for free! (What an awesome friend, right?) Any recommendations? do you know if i can use it for my payments?

I believe it can only be used at the time of purchase for a new vehicle. Now if your friend really wants to get rid of the points, I have a 2011 SS arriving in a few weeks that I could use it on.

I'm not sure if you can buy GM performance parts with the points or not.

Good luck!

I think the max you can use towards a new rig is $1,000.00. I maybe wrong but check, it's really changed.

I've heard several stories of people buying various GM cars and some using nearly $3K in points, and others being maxed at $1K or $1.5K.. I think it depends on the car you are buying and other promotional offers at the time.

I dont know if it is the same with direct family members but my mom trnasfered her points to me without adding me as an authorized user. Call GM Visa customer service to find out exacly what needs to be done. I know for a fact they dont allow combining your points with someone elses

I believe that you can only transfer the points from your immidiate family i.e. brother/sister/mother/father only.
