I have friends that deployed in support of Africom, one of them actually just got home. I was referring to your Vararam.

Lol, I really enjoyed the Vararam. Highly recommend it especially the new version that has zero issues.

TSP put their new small bore LS7 heads on an LS3 with a FAST 102 intake and throttle body, and picked up 42 hp. They expect to be able to do the same with their aftermarket casting LS3 heads, once they get finished.

Made 470rwhp corrected (486 actual!) with the TSP 231/236, TSP intake, and TSP exhaust. That's with no UD pulley, TB, Manifold porting, or headwork. Very impressed with the setup. 5000 trouble free miles and counting!

I had a car make 515rwhp heads/cam on Andy's dyno with 93 fuel. It was a LG heads/cam combo. |

I'm doing some stuff to my car right now as well. I was going to go with a set of ported heads but after looking at everything I decided to go with nitrous instead. A lot more bang for your buck. I will eventually get a nice set of heads when I build the engine though.

Like Ive said before, These heads flow GREAT and should be an area where you save money. I wouldnt get new aftermarket heads. at best, Id have your stock heads pulled and ported/polished with a slight milling to keep them true. The money you saved on aftermarket heads, you can spend on the FAST intake system.
I wouldnt go amy smaller than the 231/236. Hold on tight after 3800 RPMS |

[QUOTE=Sam88gta1;2833871]Why does the area matter?
Well some areas of the country do not have 93 octane. Calif. and Okla for example. I am not sure about Florida plus some tuners are better than others. Also the different cams and heads etc add many varibles.

Cnc work on exchange will set you back about $800. That's not bad at all when your looking for bigger hp. The aftermarket casting ls3 heads will put a good hp gain over the stock castings and potted stock castings.
The valve is in the wrong place, the chambers are to big, the ports are to big and if you really think how big a ls3 heads port is they don't flow good. Yeah they flow better than a ls1 head, but crap it'd be hard to do with that size port and valve. |

I seen you post in the past that you are working on a cam that makes a bit more power than the 231/236. |

The 231/236 is a pretty good camshaft. We will offer a slightly larger one, but it's deminishing returns as you get bigger and bigger. I expect 4-5hp peak gains at the expense of a little bottom end.
