First mods for new ZL1

Just picked up my victory red ZL1 today. It's a 6MT and pretty fun so far.

Looking for more torque and a bit more exhaust noise. Am thinking about doing the fuse pull and see if that does it for me.

Was wondering if I could sneak headers, CAI, and a pulley mod on without having to flash the pcm. Mainly because I haven't found a reputable local tuner yet.

Fuse pull for the exhaust flaps would be a good start. A roto-fab cai and a ported vmax throttle body would be a good follow up. All of that would be no tune. Headers and a pulley would need a tune. I gained about 50 rwhp on fuse pull/muffler delete, roto-fab, and vmax ported tb. Start there

Do the fuse pull for sure but before you do anything else, get a good catch can. You will not be able to install headers or pulley without tuning but a CAI intake and VMAX ported throttle body will add an easy 40-50 rwhp and will let you hear the supercharger whine.

We have a few LS3/L99 throttle bodies in stock but not any LSA.

I may be in the minority here, but I suggest that you wait until the break-in period is over before buying any mods. Once the break-in period is over, you will be better able to determine the car's limits. You may find that it is fast enough. In the meantime it gives you more time to research mods and figure out what fits your bogey.

Welcome and good luck.

I'm old...I hate the "fuse pull" at cruise. Sounds good for about a minute then I'm over it.

Instead of a fuse pull, get the Mild2Wild, does the same thing but you can control it inside the car and it's only $89. I have that coupled with headers, intake and a tune and picked up 55rwhp and the sound is incredible. There are plenty of ways to go depending on what your budget is and how far you want to take it. As stated before though, don't do anything that requires a tune if you don't have a place to get tuned.

With only 4 miles on the car, I doubt the fuse pull will do anything.

They are referring to the fuse pull to keep the exhaust flaps open not to reset the ECM fuel tables.

Noted something interesting.

13ZL1BLove - Is that dyno proven? 50 rwhp for under $800.00 and not voiding your warranty seems good.

BamBam13 - If his numbers are right then headers and a tune only added 5 rwhp over a CAI and throttle body. If so then not such a good option considering it voided your warranty. Now that your warranty is voided I would add a pulley.

No offense to either of you. Just found the comparison numbers to be interesting.

Yea, you can't go wrong with a good performing Catch Can.
