Im sorry OP! That is very unfortunate that he is not sticking to his word, especially after the amount you spent with his shop. Im sure there are tons of other shops in the California area that would love to have your business. I would start searching the forum and see if one of them would want to take a look at it!

When the car is being built for racing....look at the parts list.....it should be expected to have some bugs. The shop owner should have known to expect a call to do some tweaking. Sounds to me like he is bailing.

Do you even know the guy? Rick is one of the best tuners in the country and has been around longer than camaro5. I would like to hear his side of this before everyone starts spreading false info.

Take it to ADM in TX...I had it shipped there and drove it back. Definitely worth the drive and it's been flawless ever since, which is drastically different than my experience from another shop in CA.

I've never met Rick, just talked with him on the phone. His best friend is a friend of mine, and that is how this deal got started. I had called numerous shops and got tons of feedback before I made the decision to go with Rick. I had heard great things about his shop, but what swayed me to go with him was my friend is his best friend, so I thought I would be taken care of.

To make my decision even easier, was that I was promised to have the most HP from a ZL1, and also I would have a tuner (Rick) be available at any time if I needed future work on the car. Since then, I have had ZERO work done to my car. So I guess not letting Rick test drive my car for the 500 miles put me on his black list.

I guess putting all my faith in my friend cost me $17K of work that I now know nothing about.

Camaro5 members can take it for what its worth. Truth is, Rick did a bunch of work to my car, $17,600.00 worth of work to be exact. And now he is refusing to repair a faulty slave cylinder that he manufactures in his own shop. Worst part is, he hasn't even looked at my car to see what the real problem is. He also says that he works on cars much more expensive that mine, and many spend more on mods. Also, that I should be able to trust him driving my car for 500 miles. Well, I don't! But that is not the issue. The issue here is I spent $17K for him to work on my car, and now he is refusing to repair his OWN work. That is BAD business in any book!!

It's happened to others. It is the old take the money and run. I personally would meet him face to face and ask him directly why won't he finish off the job.

Its only a clutch. Take it somewhere and get it fixed. Than go back to the track and start having fun. Don't forget to send him the bill. IF HE IS A STAND UP GUY he will make right. If not just go on your way.

Sorry to hear about your situation. It was a new car, and the parts installed are for running down a track. They were used properly for their intended purpose. The fact that u paid that much money willha e a lot of impact on a judge or jury. Sounds like abysmal customer service. Yeah shit happens, but when you've paid that much an honorable shop will get u in fast and find the problem.
