[VIDEO]Pfadt hands the keys to GM Racing's Johnny O'Connell

Background:

Johnny O'Connell is one of the most decorated drivers in American racing history. He has multiple American Le Mans Series championships, is the first American to win the 24 HOURS OF LE MANS four times which is the most grueling, prestigious race on the planet, and has won the 12 HOURS OF SEBRING eight times, again, a record. Currently he is contesting for Corvette Racing, GM Racing's premier program, in ALMS and racing a 2010 Camaro in Grand AM GT.

It is safe to say Johnny is the ultimate source for how a GM vehicle should perform on the track, since he has been a GM factory driver for almost a full decade. GM turns to Johnny for program development, due to his extensive qualifications as a racing driver, and chassis/suspension development driver.

The Goal:

Johnny O'Connell chose Pfadt Race Engineering to develop an aftermarket product line for street and track applications for the Corvette and the new Camaro. Recognizing the importance of such a great GM factory resource, Pfadt now works with Johnny at the track, to continually progress the state of aftermarket suspension. As an engineering company, just like the GM engineers he works with in Corvette Racing, the transition from factory race car development to street/track car development is seamless; we all speak the same language, and all are on the same page when it comes to vehicle engineering. Pfadt staff have over two decades of GM specific experience in vehicle engineering for road cars and factory GM race cars.

The Video:

Pfadt Race Engineering scheduled a test day in mid-July with Johnny at our facility at Miller Motorsport Park here in Utah, a proper race track that plays host to the most professional sports car racing series in America. While most of the day was focused on product development for Corvette, due to both Johnny and Pfadt's extensive Corvette background, we had some available track time and handed the keys of our Pfadt Development Camaro over to Johnny, and caught his impromptu response during a quick interview right out of the car.

Results:

If Pfadt Race Engineering products take a car that comes from the factory with a lot of room for suspension improvement, and creates this much excitement in a GM factory race car driver, what kind of excitement will they do for you?

Wow, that's a nice endorsement! I hope he continues to work with you guys on your Camaro stuff. Some in car video of Johnny driving the Pfadt Camaro would be really sweet!

So now we have Johnny O’Connell, who is the teammate of Jan Magnussen in the ALMS #3 Corvette Racing C6.R racing against Jan in Grand Am and to top it off, they’re both driving Camaros! That’s the kind of thing that causes rips in the space-time continuum.

Maybe you can ask Johnny to talk Jan into giving the Pfadt Camaro a spin!
