I know its not a Camaro, but I am shocked...Evidently I couldn't even of had an equally equipped V6 Camaro for the price I got for my 5.0 two weeks ago.

2012 Mustang GT
Premium pkg
401A Upgrade pkg
HID & Security pkg
Rear sensor pkg
Comfort pkg
19" machined alluminum wheels

MSRP: $37,310
Negotiated price: $31K ($6,310 off)

then you would have had about the same amount of speed, and a better looking car. I try not to laugh when the 5.0's pull up beside my SS and want a run. Poor mustangs.

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. It almost sounds like you are comparing the V6 Camaro and the new 5.0? Maybe I misread it.... yep,, I must have misread it... only an extremely uneducated (car wise) person would make such a statement.

Look I'm not into the Camaro vs Mustang BS that goes on here. It childish and usually full of goo goo eyes for one or the other. I happen to be smart enough to know that the new Camaro and the new Mustang is a driver's race. I also happen to like both cars.

Sorry if my posting on the Camaro pricing topic caused you to make such ridiculous (if I read it correctly) statement. I wasn't trying to ruffle anyone's feathers. I was seriously not understanding why the disparity in pricing.

Carry on.

ford has always given bigger discounts than Chevy. yea when I was car shopping I was offered the same mustang for $31k after discounts. also saw a fully loaded f150 for $36. or an expedition limited for $40k. prices that are unheard of on Chevy cars for equally comparable vehicles. the 07 cobra I own I paid about $6k less than msrp. try gettin a deal like that on a zl1. even the boss that just came out a couple years ago can be bought at a few grand below msrp. but unlike most camaro owners here or mustang owners for that matter, I'm not sponsored nor supplied by any manufacturer. atleast that's what it seems at times with the die hard brand loyalty. so I get whatever I like at any given time. last time it was the shelby this time the camaro. I don't care. now I'm thinking an Audi is looking very good... who cares? its my money I buy what I want. and i ALWAYS remove any dealer branding. never understood the people that drive around with dealer badges or plate frames or whatnot. I don't get paid to advertise.

anyways... I paid $38k OTD for the 2ss 45th.

Good post!
I think the fact they are not offering rebates as much on the Camaro,, that is helping with the resale value. So that is a plus for the Camaro for sure.

It has been my experience that Mustangs use to out number Camaros on the road in just about every place I went for years. But ever since 2010.. The Camaros (newest body style) out numbers the Mustangs newest body style by quite a bit... at least around here.

So while the montra: that "Mustangs are a dime a dozen" does ring some truth to it, I see FAR more 2010+ SS Camaros than I do of the 2011+ 5.0s. Which can be a plus for the Camaro in some ways, but a negative in others (depending on how you look at it).

Bottom line- I really like both of them. and I would be proud to own either of them.

Wow you did better than me. I got around 2300-2400 off+ 1000 private offer. Just an fyi, my insurance company gave me gap for $19 every 6 months and its MUCH MORE when you buy from a dealer. I also got lojack from the dealer. The only problem is you have to get the most expensive one ($995) but you get a life time warranty instead of 2 years

Whose your insurance company? I paid $450 for my gap which I thought was pretty good. Didn't go with LoJack since we have OnStar and they can track the car also.

I think the dealer told me like 700. It was like $13 a month for 5 years. I got LoJack because my insurance went down so I am technically only paying under $300 in the first 5 years and then it becomes free in a couple of years. How many people pay for OnStar? The cheapest plan is like 199 a year and they wont track it unless you have a membership.
