Questions for the experts....

I ordered an SS/2 and was asked if I wanted the "catback" exhaust. I listened to the salesman and it sounded cool, but I felt silly about asking more about it. Can anyone help me on this?

Catback exhaust will give you a little more power (better exhaust flow) and a "better" exhaust note (louder with more growl). I got it with mine.

From Wikipedia:

Cat-back
Cat-back (also cat back and catback) refers to the portion of the exhaust system from the outlet of the catalytic converter to the final vent to open air. This generally includes the pipe from the converter to the muffler, the muffler, and the final length of pipe to open air.

Cat-back exhaust systems are a very popular aftermarket performance enhancement. They generally use larger diameter pipe than the stock system. Good systems will have mandrel-bent turns that allow the exhaust gas to exit with as little back pressure as possible. The mufflers included in these kits are often glasspacks, again to reduce back pressure. If the system is engineered more for show than functionality, it may be tuned to enhance the lower sounds that are lacking from high-RPM low-displacement engines.

Personally, I'd wait and get an aftermarket system that will most likely have an even more aggressive sound.

Well, the thing about the GMPP catback is that if it is installed by the dealer, it will maintain your warranty. That's why I am getting it.

There was a question here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...928#post300928,

about the difference between the Red SS and the Silver SS. Which one is the SS1 and the SS2?

just in case no one reads the answer on the linked page...

red SS badges means it has the RS package, silver means it don't have the RS package.

1SS & 2SS can have either

There are no spare tires for the SS because the spare wouldn't be able to fit over the Brembo brakes.

By the way I was raised in EP. Where are you ordering from?
