Hennessey CAI Question

i love the looks of the boxed Hennessey CAI but would rather run a dry filter. is it possible to run a dry version of that filter? if so, do they make one?

Since you seem to be looking for a CAI, Halltech has their Yellowjacket CAI on sale for $299 with free shipping, through midnight tonight. It lists for $349 but if you type "FORUM" in the coupon code box, it takes another $50 off.

Hennessey came in Last in a CAI dyno shoot out- terrible performance. CAI Inc was one of the Top ones in the test Excellent CAI.

Now if you want to spend money for no real improvement, then I guess you chose the right one.

Looks are subjective, just like sound. You may be one who likes the Trash Can delete sound, I for one find it Hideous. Again nothing personal, I could tell you some stories about H..aH never mind.

I am sure you can find a Dry filter that will fit the tube circumference, there are quite a few companies doing dry filters these days.

Mike

like you have, i just ordered a set of Kooks LT's, cats and a Corsa cat back (wife wanted the Corsa for no drone)......i do not like the "trash can delete".

as far as the intake, i think the balance for me will be the Roto-Fab with polished tube. hp is in the middle and in my opinion, the asthetics are better than CAI.

while some of you are looking for hp only (which is fine), i plan on showing mine from time to time and asthetics are just as important to me as the hp. headers, catback, CAI, tune and maybe a Maggie someday are all she'll see for performance.

Actually, didn't the Hennessey make the car LOSE horsepower??? I don't know about you, but I don't want to pay $500 for a performance part that LOSES performance. But hey, I dunno, you might be opening your hood to show people more than you're actually driving the car, so go for it if you wanna. I agree it probably has the best look of all the CAIs I've seen.

Oh, and as far as opinions go, if you post on a public forum, you're going to get (wait for it) opinions. Although that actually wasn't so much an opinion as it was trying to inform you of an actual TEST done by an independent member here.

But hey, it's your $500.

- no horsepower loss...+1.something
- i opened this thread asking if i could use a dry filter w/ a Hennessey, not asking what everyones opinion was w/ the Hennessey (all i was saying).
- and yes........it is my $500..

2010SSRS- The Kooks headers are a good choice in my opinion (Not that you asked)

Now the Robo-Fab is a decent CAI, Now I am confused- thought you asked about Hennessey. I need to stop so much.

Enjoy your day!
