2014 Rear End Retrofit?
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but has anyone looked into updating the rear of their earlier model camaro to the new 2014 design? Looking at the body lines in pictures it looks like they maintained the same seems etc.

People have talked about it, but it would be very difficult. They don't keep the same shape as the 2010-2013. You would for sure have to get a new rear end, a new trunk lid, and new rear fenders.

I don't see why you would need new fenders. A new trunk lid, rear fascia, and tail lights are a given. Can Anybody confirm the reason why you would need new fenders?

Because the taillights go into the rear fenders, and so 2010-2013 rear fenders wouldn't work because they wouldn't fit the 14' taillights

I don't think new side panels would be necessary - from the looks of the two images below it looks like the taillights simply follow the lines of the 2010-2013 rear bumper that would normally meet with the side panel. And keep in mind - these aren't just fenders, it's the whole side of the car.
From what I remember - the only changes are the trunk, bumper, and taillights. [strikeout]And looking at the picture it's not 100% clear on whether you'd HAVE to change the trunk lid. It almost looks like the 2014 trunklid follows the same lines of the 2010-2013.[/strikeout] 2013 Rear: 2014 Rear: Edit: Looking at the pictures some more it does appear that the 2014 trunklid line against the taillights slopes down as it goes towards the center of the trunk. This is really unfortunate because if you were to install a 2014 trunklid on your 2010-2013, you'd have two 3rd brake lights (one in the rear windshield and one in the trunklid).

Nevermind what i said below ^^^^^^^^what he said look be correct
the rear fenders are part of the roof, not like the front fenders that can be removed. but looking at pics of the rear bumper (2014), the tail lights wrap around the bumper and stop right at the rear fender line, so it appear to be a bumper swap. but that just looking at pics lupe |

Yes the 2010-2014 body sides are the same.
You will need new rear fascia, lower fascia (deflector), absorber, tail lamps, bumper bar, and I'm pretty sure the trunk lid. Maybe some other parts like a tail lamp harness a few brackets -Greg

If you look at the difference you will see where the taillights go now, is where the bumper cover use to go.

Knowing how mid gen fascia updates go my bet is the rear quarter panels are 100% the same between the two, and I wouldn't be surprised if the trunk lid used 2010-2013 body lines for around the taillights & all.

I don't care for the way the rear defusser comes half way up the rear end to the middle of the license plate.
