Problem filling gas tank at pumps with new nozzle
The gas stations I normally use have converted to a new rubber collar around the nozzle that is causing the pump to constantly shut off like the tank is full. I have to hold the nozzle partially out of the filler tube. Anyone else having this problem. I suspect the new collar on the gas pumb nozzle is to reduce fumes from escaping. I live in Maryland near D.C. Anyone else having problems?

Try turning the nozzle upside down.
These nozzles are causing problems with a number of vehicle makes/models, not just the Camaro. |

I turn it sideways when I get that kind of issue, it always works. I've had this issue with cars in the past such as my 00 Vette and 99 TA.

I have the same issue but usually just adjust the nozzle slightly to the side and get the lever "locked" at that angle and slowly let it rest and usually no problems after that. Sucks sometimes when I start the pump, go inside to pickup breakfast and what not, come out 10 minutes later and it'd shut off after $4 but either way no big. Good luck to you!

I have this now and then, I just push the thing a bit harder in and it seems to stay put that way.

There's a few gas stations around here that use that kind of nozzle. I dont go to them. Its to hard to mess with. So i go to the stations that have the nice and easy gas nozzles.

Yes I have the same issue. I usually just stand there and hold it a bit higher, sort of tilt it up a bit. That works if you dont mind standing there.

That's funny right there. I don't care who you are! lol But I have this same issue too. That is the only draw back I can find about this car. It is absolutely the worst car I ever had to refuel! But I wouldn't trade it for anything....even if I had to use a funnel!

Interesting. I've been having the same issue for the last three months. Now I know why.
It's a pain in the ass here in Jersey because I have to explain to some gas pump attendant how to pump my gas now. |

I've heard it happening on some Ford's. Hasn't happened on my runaway truck yet though...
