We need pictures of the install, especially where the resovoir is and the line from the pump to the resovoir...

Did he check the pressure it was producing? maybe there is a blockage some where in there.

Check the belt routing, make sure the belt is correct over the p/s pump pully, not reversed.

If you turn your wheels lock to lock you should hear the power steering pump squeeling? or at least some kind of noise. Is this steering unit the same as the V8 having wire issues. mine is a little tight but not a complete failure.

I will be putting pics up soon...hopefully that will help you guys notice a problem if any. But he did check the belt, checked the hoses and everything. He's stumped.

That hose does come close to the back plate of the vortech housing, they had to keep it loose until you were ready to slip on the reservior. I had the power steering res. zipped tied to the fan shroud until i was ready to complete the install.

I would maybe drain the unit and inspect the hoses where they push on to the fittings.
Years ago mercury outboards came out with a double wall fuel line. If you slipped it over a hose barb with a really sharp end you could cut the inner liner and creat a valve type flap inside the hose. Removal of the hose and everything would be perfect until you would poke at it with a pick. Catch the flap just right and you could fold it over. Heard lots of horor storys bout the fuel line when they came out. Damn near bought a freshly built 260hp power head by doing it myself. Didnt have ten minutes on it when I shut it down. Thank god for good ears would have cost our shop a forture. Always seemed the 2 dollar part would cost me the trouble. Not sure what the power steering hoses look like so just a thought. |

There have been issues with the pumps on the LLTs but most have failed in the really cold weather. The only other thing it sounds like is a pinched hose but you should see that.
