couldn't agree more. as of right now there is NOTHING other than a CTSV coupe... that is even close to what the GT500 brings.

But I am excited at what the future holds for the "Extreme" muscle cars that are coming.

+1

Gee it was getting a little boring here.... thank god the mods came in and started to change the subject by threatening its members.

I was also banned from the ZL1 section but without any reason and didn't have any infractions at the time. Do I get a reason for my ban as well?

I also enjoy the Pills posts and honest perspective.

I also dont see how the 2012 GT500 is sitting at the bottom looking up.....looking up at what.... a picture of ZL1 that nobody can buy yet?

No doubt about it!!

I hate to see these threads go to hell .... Let's just keep it civil and talk and learn about cars

if you'd like to pick a fight just insult me or post some porn and I'll ban you quck and easy...

As far as you being able to post in a given section. That is only done by Admins. Moderators don't have that ability. So that one came from the top.

Feel free to PM him and ask him...

that one wasn't up to us. Again... That should tell you that you are probably not posting in a manner which is consistent with the expectation that everyone here have some appreciation for the Camaro.

You and I have had this discussion before. If you are only here to defend your chosen car, This is not the site for you.

I don't know why it is so hard for you guys to get it...

Seems pretty simple.

Like I said, I can easily save my time and energy by deleting all your posts and banning you permanently. I'm sure more members would thank me than would be upset about it. But we don't... We give all our member a chance to play by the rules of this privately owned and operated site.

You control your own destiny.

I love all these comments about how insightful many of these informative posts are but look right past how suggestive and back-handed they are (at least to me - a CAMARO fanatic). I'm not entirely sure about the first person to post information about the 5.XL Gen V LS-motor was thePill (I actually know that boxmonkeyracing has been preaching about a Gen V DI motor for a long time), but I don't care that much about it to waste the energy and time. A lot of that is because I don't understand the relevance those remarks and statements have to do with participating here. Are they to suggest that because you post those that you somehow are showing you're impatial when you post condescending remarks to others (see Post 215); Then - take every opportunity to try to show how far-sighted GM is in every respect than Ford, and how they have no ability or capacity to look past the current models. Nearly every post has intent to somehow either directly or indirectly take cuts at the car this site it built around. I see no reason to preach on a site dedicated to a rival car, so why all the Mustang this-and-that? I tried to look past the suggestive comments and little subtle remarks in the beginning, but it's been quite clear for sometime what's going on. Maybe it's just to argue; maybe it's to try to steal sales. Why does it really matter than much to you about what CAMARO owners/supporters/lovers/fanatics think? Why are you compelled to educate us on anything not-CAMARO? I know what the Section says, and I know why it's here, but why the same message 95% of the time?

I'm happy we have a diverse love of cars in this Community. However, when it's almost the same person, nearly everytime, saying the same thing, and it doesn't have to do with the fundamental (CAMARO) of the Community, I have a problem. You use the Gen V information you shared to qualify you to possess some credibility (IMO), yet I don't see any lessons about any other cars. Just because you put together a relatively (IMHO) unoriginal recipe together for Z28, doesn't mean you are enthused about CAMARO (I saw that more as a way to "get in" with the Sponsor in that thread). When almost all posts are about Mustangs, credibiltiy is lost (for me), and the integrity of your appreciation for CAMARO on a CAMARO website is pretty much gone. That may not mean anything to you, however, as a fanatic (probably part of the reason why I'm a Mod') , it's a little frustrating. Almost all meaningful posts by you have something to do about Mustang, and that's fine. I love seeing other members who like both cars (and more for that matter) post, but I don't see them only shouting about Mustang (or any other car for that matter).

I'd encourage educating people on Mustang sites and communities. I'm sure you'll be met with less resistance. Maybe, because you are knowledgable in CAMARO, you might try to do what you do here... That would be entertaining, I'm sure. I wish I was intellegent enough to articulate my thoughts as smooth as you, but I guess these words will have to suffice. I'm not good at arguing, so I conceed there, however, please don't pretend to be on our side or something. If you're here to go-on-and-on about Mustang, keep it on topic. I'll just make it easier and consolidate all that talk into one nice package for you if it's easier

Radz, my messages are 95% the same because as of 5 October, 95% of my post on this site have been in accordance with and related to the "5.8L Shelby Engine confirmed"

Can you please, for the love of god, leave members alone and moderate without your opinion dictating on what others should think?

I don't believe people log into Camaro5 just to check the "General" section and read the 5.8 liter thread. This thread is low on the totem pole... Unless there is so many hits on this thread alone that it is beginning to distract some members that should be in the ZL1 section. Then I could see why moderators are here.

I am discouraged that you didn't like my Z28 rendition, but assuming that I created an automobile just to "get in good" with the creator of a tread is low. Maybe you should publicly challenge my racing career or my service to my country so you could live in Crapramento, Crapifornia and have an opinoin.

Don't reply to my post again, and that is coming from a war veteran...

Back on topic, hopefully, I have something this week but my "friends" are doing their jobs and not saying anything.

You just proved my point. You are now admitting you're really only here to talk about the Mustang.

Since I really only talk CAMARO on a CAMARO website, where I believe other CAMARO enthusiasts come to talk CAMARO, I don't really think I'm being unreasonable, nor am I suggesting to anyone what I think they should think. If I were dictating, you probably wouldn't have been allowed to continue to post, since you just admitted what I believe to be your intent and interest here. Everyone knows my interest. I put my interest on my body; I put it on my Toyota (lol); I put it on my office desk; I put it in my home; so I'm hiding nothing. I can count the posts on one hand that I've deleted that were based on opinions, and I'm an advocate of free speach, so long as it's within the confines of our Community. If I am picking on anyone, it would be someone I think is asking for a quarrel. What do you honestly leave me to believe you're here to do with that last post, LOL? Am I supposed to let you walk all over the fundamental commonality of this Community? Free speach is one thing, but I also believe that can be abused, especially if I believe it is destructive (which I do to a small degree - but it's getting bigger...).

I'm sorry to anyone who thinks I'm picking on them; with a caveat: don't mistake this Community for anything less than a CAMARO Community. Personally - I welcome all enthusiasts, however, if 95% of their posts have nothing to do with enthusiasm for CAMARO, I'm not sure that individual is being respectful to the fundamentals of the Community. If one has less than 5% of positive things to say about CAMARO in CAMARO5, perhaps, this isn't the Community that individual thinks it is. I'm not better than anyone else on this site (probably lesser than most, lol), however, I'll stand up for what I believe this site is for. I don't appreciate anyone coming in and pee'ing in my cereal.

I understand your thinking behind the General Section. However, to me, it doesn't take away from what this Community is about. If the banner said, "Cool Cars.com", then I could agree with your point better - that's not the case. I am a CAMARO5 Moderator, therefore I go all over the site. I also stay away from parts of the site (like this Section sometimes...), but what I volunteered for is to maintain the integrity of what CAMARO5 is about. I said it enough, so I won't say it again, lol.

I didn't say I didn't like your rendition; I agree with it, in fact. I also think that it's pretty obvious - just my opinion. Those are some good parts to really get CAMARO to perform with some really serious iron. You point to it as a qualification for credibility, to me, because your experience here. But you can't make a couple comments in support of a car that you hold little regard for, then, go run off and make another eight comments striking that car down in support of your car. I can respect you for your enthusiasm for your car - it's badass!!! I don't try to take anything away from that though - and I think that's what you're doing with 95% of your posts.

I have no reason to challenge any aspect of you other than why you're here. Am I supposed to give you points for your service for me to live where I do? I will give you points for your dedication, however, I didn't ask you to serve, nor do I think you're entitled to walk over me, or anyone else. I have unmatched respect for those that serve and have served, and those friends and family who have to stay at home. I'm not going to be suggestive, like you, and question your integrity; it looks like that nature goes further than your love for your car.

I'm not sure what you mean by, "Don't reply to my post again, and that is coming from a war veteran...".

Now you're the victim??? seriously??? Attack your service to this country...

I'm pretty sure my service to this country isn't any thing even close to what I post on a automotive web site...

Maybe I should be insulted that you would put your forum posts and your service to this country at the same level.

See how easy it is to spin what you say.... Please. just stop playing the victim..

It doesn't suit you very well. Especially considering that I'm sure you serve this country with distinction...

I'm sure you have more character than that, to let this site get under your skin.

I don't think attacking my (and in my opinion) very well rendered Z28 along with my (so called) interest in the Camaro was called for. That, along with subtle jabs by moderators is ridicules so... allow me to get ridicules. Turning a thread into nonsense because moderators are sick and tired of people talking about other cars in the General forum is dumb.... I know why your here, to insult me and then ban me for insulting you back... I will tell you now, I won't call you names (like Radz did) or come out of the blue and give you the "..." I am willing to dispute anything you want, just as long as my hobbies and lifestyle are kept out of it. Am I playing the victim? I don't know... was I attacked on this thread for unreasonable issues? I had thought that the moderators were smart, I had even defended Radz and Dragon on occasions...

No matter how you split it, its pretty low class... It is not the site that gets under my skin, it is the moderators... and don't ever try to define my service with one word...

Anyway, back on topic...

So is 5.8L a 350?

I had a 350 on my old 73' Z-28. I loved that car.

GM called the 350 a 5.7 Of course, they also called 346/7 ci LS1s 5.7s, too. Ford 351s were 5.8s to my recollection

It should be a 351, I don't think Ford would want to take GM's 350. I had multiple 5.7 liter 350s and they were all pretty good engines unless they had a turbo 350 transmission :(.

Again bro, the woe is me routine aint working... Why would I air out our dirty laundry just to bait you??

dude, if I wanted to get rid of you It's one click??? seriously... You refuse to acknowledge the source of our scrutiny... the fact that your ONLY reason for being here is to tell us about the mustang... That's it...You're not a car fan your a mustang fan...

And we're telling you to be a member here that isn't going to fly any more.

Of all the things I'd rather be doing... if I wanted to get rid of you, I could be enjoying myself instead of having this lovely conversation with you???

I'm thinking at this point it would be better use of my time to just ban you so I don't have to deal with you...

So stop accusing us of some hidden agenda... I've already told you your future here is in your hands...

pretty simple.

Its not posting in General Automotive thats the problem, talking only about the Mustang is the problem. Whether its in Gen Auto, a ZL1 thread, a sales thread, the Camaro vs section, where ever.

We won't insult members just to bait them into insulting us so that we can ban them. Check the rules
Quote:
13) Moderator Discretion — All posting activity on Camaro5.com is monitored and subject to disciplinary action based on the discretion of the admins and moderators beyond the rules specifically outlined above in an effort to serve the community at large.
Basically, that rule is in place to deal with trolls or anyone else that isn't technically breaking the rules, yet are still being disruptive to the site. So the fact that you're still here means that we have yet to be convinced that it would be in the best interest of the Camaro5 Community to kick you off.
