Be sure to inspect the right side thoroughly. Open the door check the jamb out. Check EVERYTHING's alignment. Interior panels, door and fender (other than the note at the bottom), pop the hood and look to see if the shock tower had any damage to it. Also remove the spare tire cover (same as the 3rd gen) and check for any repair work done to the quarter panel.

I would pay probably $6500-$7500 depending how bad I wanted it. I got my 99 last year with 130K on it for $4600.00. It needed about $600 dollars worth of parts and it runs beautifully. Keep in mind it seemed like it was quite neglected. (common stuff brakes, shocks, water pump, plugs!, wires!, drivers power window motor)

Note: Its real easy for a lazy mechanic to bow the bottom of the fenders out near the doors. It appears that car has them bent a little bit. It is a real easy fix just have to bend the bracket back to its original position and be careful jacking it next time.

That's not true. The LS1 WS6 and SS hoods are not sealed ram air hoods, and they don't yield any more horsepower than a lid. It's just cooler looking.

I wouldn't say worse. Almost better in the sense that is much easier to change than a thirdgen. Mostly because the door panel comes off so easy.

I think it's worse because of the composite doors. My replacement bolts came a little loose and have enlarged the mounting holes by rattling around, and my brushes cracked off when I was adjusting them. Such a hassle.

That is a lot of money for a car that old, especially if it's been wrecked. Regardless of KBB, do you want to spend 10k on a used firebird with 100k miles if you don't know the owner or story. I'd stay away, or offer them what you think is fair and be done with it. Buyers remorse is a bitch. Good luck!

KBB is way over on everything. Use edmunds TMV. Seem to be right on if you don;t want to pay for black book.

KBB "valued" my 2007 C6 1LT M6 with 17K at excellent private party at $36K YEA RIGHT! Edmunds TMV was $28.5K. I was able to sell for $29.5K. A far cry from KBBs $36K. Considering I only paid $39K for the car brand new in 2007 with GMS, I'd say I did just fine.
