Maybe someone should call them and let them know the whole ZL1 community is watching how they handle themselves. A little pressure on the two owners listed on their website would probably go along way!

OP, first sorry for what happened to your car. I've read through this whole post and I'd like to make a few suggestions that I hope will help you. The idiot employee is under the insurance of the dealership, therefore he is a representative of the dealership which makes the dealership liable. They can press charges against him and take whatever actions they need to, but you can't touch him. The dealership is telling you nothing to deter from doing anything. As long as you have no information, there's nothing you can do. Obviously you're going to get a lawyer. That's a given. One thing that has not been mentioned to you, which you need to do, is get a copy of the police report. There is no way in hell that he wrecked the car and a report wasn't filled out. You're the owner of the car and are entitled to a copy. As said earlier, say nothing to the dealership. I would even suggest that no one on here do or say anything against the dealership because then the OP may be hurt by the dealership saying he was the cause of defamation or slander. That would hurt whatever case he may or may not have. If you're dealership pays out, they will only pay the cars current value. If you have GAP insurance, they'll cover the rest. After that, you should be able to take the car home, strip it, and sell parts to make up for losses. However, you're attorney should be able to have the dealerships insurance company pay for everything. Remember, get that police report. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Honestly man, I don't think you needs lawyer. Given the nature of this incident your insurance company is going to do everything they can to make gm or the dealership pay rather than you. They have more than enough lawyers on staff to bug the hell out of gm/dealer.
There has to be a police report for the accident. Even if gm/dealer isn't liable the driver of the car is. Just like if you borrow a friends car and crash it, your insurance would be expected to pay. I'll post on their site as well |
