Blower motor catch can issue

LS3 with Maggie, cam and all supporting mods. I have the stock valve covers with an Elite catch can mounted on the dirty side. The car is not a daily driver but about every third "around town" trip the catch can fills up with oil. Is this normal for a blower motor or is this a PCV issue. If it's a PCV issue can I run an in-line PCV along with the stock PCV or will this not help?

The CC inlet on top of the can is attached to the factory PCV on the back of the drivers side valve cover and the outlet on the side of the can goes to the side of the blower as seen in the pic.

A little advice please

Hmm, as far as I know the LS3 does not have a PCV valve, it's just baffles

Also, on my non-supercharged LS3, the PCV outlet is right below the throttle body, and the inlet is right after the throttle body. I didn't realize there was a connection on the back of the driver's side valve cover? I thought that was only on the V6?

I'm way out of my element when it comes to supercharging the LS3 so I am probably no help lol. This is how my non-supercharged LS3 is http://www.andersonperformance.net/L...e%20NA_PCV.jpg

That is a N/A setup on the clean side, the LS3 has an outlet valve on the back of the driver side valve cover where a hose attaches to the front of the driver side of the SC.

With mine (LSA Conversion), I have mine pulling from the valley cover. My driver's side is not on the catch can.

I thought the 'dirty' part was coming from the Valley Cover -- never have had any oil build up:

Passenger and Drivers valve cover vents linked:

Linked to Air intake:

I've never had a problem with it this way -- but I also have a vented Catch Can and

Breather on the passengers valve cover:

I have the inlet hocked up to the fitting at the rear of the drivers side valve cover. I n about 5K miles I get about an inch of oil in the can. That doesn't seem excessive to me.

That doesn't seem right at all.

I have the dual valve on my SLP charged motor and put about 2,500 miles on a year and barely have any in the thing at my once a year oil changes.

I was having the same issue but with a whipple. I capped off the driver side valve cover and connected it to the valley plate. I also have the JRE breather on the other valve cover.
put I have only had it connected that way for about 300 miles, then I had to put her to sleep during the snowy months. Also, I was recommend to switch to a thicker oil and run about 1/2 - 1 quart lower. Hope this helps.

kstormoen - any specifics or pics on how you connected yours with a whipple? I just had my whipple installed, and have a catch can to install.

I have the LS3 with a Whipple, hooked up basically like yours, GNTurboray. The passenger valve cover PCV port is connected to the fresh air intake charge pipe of the Whipple. The driver side valve cover PCV port is connected to the side port of my Mike Norris catch can. The top outlet of the catch can is then routed to the PCV port on the front of the Whipple. I also have a CFM Performance, one-way PCV breather instead of an oil fill cap.

Long story short, I don't have any issues with excessive oil in the catch can whatsoever. Good luck!

A valve cover breather may help him here...
