Headers and heat

Guys!

Does the Long headers affect the temp. of the engine ? Are they recommended for the hot climates?

I can't think of why they would. If anything, logically I would think it'd be cooler since it's pulling the exhaust out of the engine more efficiently.

I've not experienced any temp change in the engine bay running long tubes.

Most quality headers are coated to keep the heat in the tubes. Somebody correct me if I'm full of poop.

the stock manifolds have a heat sheild to stop focused heat, but i think plain headers will up the temps more. i ceramic coated to my rear axles. i think the difference is anyone running headers, is making more HP, therefore making more heat.

Well if you managed 123F, than I should be OK although it gets hotter here sometimes to level where you cant touch the walls in your room!!

You feel that you are trapped in an oven .

My thanks to all the other members for their help.
