First coolant flush

I have had my 2010 SS SS ls3 since 10 and coming up on 50K soon,

I guess it's time for an coolant flush? Any specific product recommendations for type of coolant?

I would use the factory fill coolant.

50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water and DEX-COOL coolant.

Factory coolant mixed with DISTILLED Water (from grocery store) is what I always use. Distilled water only costs a couple dollars.
Following are some extra steps I'd do:
a) Replace any hoses that are at the end of their service life.

b) After a complete flush of the cooling system and surge/expansion tank, make sure all water is out of the heater core, block, radiator and tank.

c) Most areas I lived in had additives in the home water supply so I always use distilled water in the new coolant mix or if topping off the radiator; did not want to compromise the integrity of antifreeze or shorten life.

Dexcool is available as a 50/50 mix at most automotive parts retailers. Drain, refill, done.

The 50/50 goes for a premium price. I maintain 3 vehicles and much more economical to go with 100% and mix it myself.

For $2 per gallon more the straight Dexcool makes twice as much coolant compared to the 50/50 pre-mixed.
Camaro coolant capacity is nearly 3 gallons.

Advance Auto
Dexcool 50/50 $15.19
Dexcool 100% $17.29

Walmart
Dexcool 50/50 $12.47
Dexcool 100% $14.27

And usually have 5 gallon jug of distilled on hand from grocery store for radiators/cycle batteries/putting on xpel film etc.
In the process of radiator flush now on one of them.

Owners manuals says 150K miles or 5 years whichever is first.

Guess I'm overdue at six years.

Good explanations, and I know this is off topic, but how do I tell what ls engine it is on my Camaro if I have no owners manual. Its a '11 1SS, also how do I get an owners manual for my car? Sorry for the rookie/basic questions, but its my first ever sports car.

Yep, saves money to mix it in the radiator. I figure if I add some antifreeze and then some water it will be mixed good enough.

You can either buy the manual for your car online (e.g. eBay) or look up the soft copies (PDF) on the Chevrolet website.

All of this information is on the internet.

LS3 is matched with the manual transmission and the L99 is automatic.
Here's your free manual:

I was always wondering if that's the real DEXCOOL stuff they use when you get it done at the dealer...is it really the same?

for $13 i just buy the ACDelco premix from the dealer. never had to flush it but iv put 2 cams in it with the motor out of the car once. for the trouble its worth the extra few bucks for me.
