Was dead set on getting a supercharger but the investment has me scared a little bit . Now after looking into a Nitrous kit is starting to look like a good option. Could some people with both set ups weight in and give me some insight on what both options have to offer. Having a lot of trouble making up my mind, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The obvious reason most are gonna give you is that nitrous can only be used on a race track and you can have a supercharger all the time. But I'm looking at nitrous as well just because of how much hp/$ you get.

Whats the cost of Nitrous refills, could equal a payment on a SC system....

~$50-75 depending on where you live. That is for a 10 pound bottle. That amount would last you something like 40-60 seconds from experience maybe a little more. You will probably spray for like 8-10 seconds per 1/4 pass so figure you can get a solid 6 passes out of a 10lb bottle.

So even if you went to the track 4-5 times a year you would still save a ton of $ using nitrous.

Refills are usually only 50-75 dollars a bottle. If he doesnt go to the track often, he could go through a bunch of nitrous bottles before its even close to the price of a supercharger. Then theres the point of being able to get more power out of the bottle than the supercharger.

It does take a lot of nitrous fills to get up into the price range of a supercharger. Even if you pay 1600 for your nitrous system.

Like said before superchargers do give you that all the time performance. Depending on how much you spray, nitrous sometimes doesn't require upgrading your fuel pump. If anything you have to get a boost-a-pump like with the supercharger. It wouldn't need injectors if it was a wet kit as well so you will save some money there.

Both are great you just have to decide what is best for you.

I would have to agree.....a 100 wet shot used only when needed, not every time you want to play, would be the most economical and Nitrous Outlet has an excellent system.

Just hope 100 is plenty for him. Some get the itch and want more. Then its off to J__'s for a crate 682cu 820hp big block

Been having lots of fun with my Ny-Trex Triple Threat NOS System!!! Running a 100 shot currently but will be increasing that to 125 & 150 to see how it does at the track.
Refills are less than $50 and under $1000 for the system.

Nitrous is hard to beat dollar for dollar. Relatively cheap initial investment, easy to install, great power, easily upgradeable with engine mods, and no power loss from heat soak. I ran the ZEX kit on my V6 and I'm still using the same kit on my SS. Superchargers are great too,and with a centri heat soak isn't that bad, but you have a much much larger initial hit to the wallet.
