Magnuson 600 Pretty Easy

Did baseline blower tune last week got 549. Didnt dyno again until yesterday morning to get similar air to the first day(last few days were abnormal low density altitude, back to 7078' today).

Safe daily driver tune with 85mm pulley, low 12 A/Fs, and still some timing to give it made 601 rwhp and 621 ft/lbs. Thats as much as I want for the street tune. Next time will be VP109E fuel and a big ice box in the trunk for the drag radials spring time.

Love It!

2016 SS A8, Magnuson 85mm pulley, Stainless works 2" Headers and full catted 3" system with NPP, Rotofab Dry, Carlyle Pro 15" wheel kit

I love the way my car goes, but would very much like to make it go faster.

Since I know that I am not a pro - race driver, is it wise to loose traction?

How much additiiional power can this car take before it is undrivable for the average Joe?

You are asking the same questions that I've been trying to get out of people for months.

At what point is the daily driver no longer a daily driver. I want to drive the car and not be in fear of the car.

I'd bet many average Joe's would be afraid of this car in stock trim. It should be a matter of getting used to your new found power. I don't have a SC, but I suspect unless you mash the pedal without care, I doubt a typical SC will negatively effect the cars street drivability.

I havent been on the scale yet since putting it all on. Not sure it saves much if any. The new support bars are beefy! But all the weight is in the right spot and I dont want any traction issues at the track.

That's why I sold my Gen5 SS : a low 10-second car with a roll cage was pretty useless on the street.

If you supercharge, stick with what the Magnuson offers: up to 550. If not, you'd be pretty safe with a robust set of bolt-ons and medium cam.

Bottom line is, the more power you add, the less traction you have, and even the best streetable drag-radials are not for daily driving if you're caught even in a light mist. Ask me how I know.

Thanks Man! You're the first person to say anything like that. Really appreciate it.

I'm still tossed up between the Maggie, Procharger and Whipple. The last 2 for the noise factor especially. I want them to know what I got.

I'd like a little more sound, but if they don't know it they'll see it when the tail lights are disappearing ahead of them. Ha.

My Drag Pack saved me 100 lbs and that's a lot of rotating mass. My fronts weigh 31 lbs each with skinnies, my rears weigh 44 bls each with slicks. He'll save at least 40 lbs I'm guessing. The 15's will weigh just a little less then my 17's

From my research, Maggie is the best if you want to keep it as a daily driver. It will have plenty of power and in many ways is better than the Whipple. Better intake air cooling, efficiency, and economy.

If you want noise, just add a Borla ATAK, but IMO it would decrease the enjoyment of daily driving.

Procharger is a different beast. I had the D1 on my Gen5 and you definitely know it's there.

It's just so disappointing that the Maggie doesn't have the old supercharger whine I love so much.
