Magnaflow axleback competion series exhaust vids

i live in brooklyn so i cant really have any fun with potholes and whatnot. so last week i ordered the exhaust and rotofab cai and went upstate for the weekend. Here's some vids of how it sounds if anyone was interested. the cai wasn't installed because it was back-ordered :( but should be coming today. im curious... with the cai installed will the car sound any different? and if so howso?

:startup +rev:

:little peel out:

:drive by:

i didn't push it on the drive by because i didn't wanna hit the curve and go flying off the mountain / hill lol :P

Sounds good! Unfortunately, CAI's don't really change the sound. I went with Roto-Fab and the only noise mine really makes is when i turn the car off. Sounds like it shoots the pressure, or air, out of the intake. It sure does look purrty under the hood though.

But for some reason, my mother has a K&N intake on her 06 R/T Charger and it whistles almost like a turbo, not as loud though of course.

Ahhh damn, I would have loved to have driven and hear a turbo whistle. My next question is going to be what's the next step if I wanna add some more h/p. S/c isn't a possibility yet because of $. I was looking into cams but they are confusing as hell. Longbtube headers seems possible but I don't have any idea what size I'd buy.

I went with the 2x3" American Racing long tubes with no cats. And holy crap is it loud. I too have the Magnaflow comp axle back.
Here are two videos:

Pretty much headers and intake are a good starting mod(you already have exhaust). You can always get gears too. I was thinking about going with a cam or nitrous set up next. For a cam though, i have almost no idea on what to look at or what to get. I have little to no knowledge of were to find them for the L99.

Anyways, go with American Racing if you decide to get headers!

Wow that was beautiful. so with the headers now, you said no cats. If I purchased the same headers but then decide to go catback will the headers need to be replaced? And you also needed a tune right? I'm a little worried about tuning and warrenty but I have 6000 miles on my car with no problems as of yet. Oyyy. I need to hit the lotto :(

I have a little over 6,400 miles on my car. I work at an performance auto shop so I guess I'm not too worried about the warranty. You don't NEED a tune, but it would be better if you get one. Without the tune, your check engine light will come on (because two of the O2 sensors will no longer be needed so would need to be tuned out) and AFM sounds horrible when it kicks in. Also, you won't be getting the max performance out of the headers.

But I agree, I could use a lotto win too

Oh, also, If you end up getting a cat back, even if the pipes might be smaller, you should be able to get them attached to the headers.

Phily, it sounds like you do have an L99 A6? If so, have you drove enough to hear AFM being activated? How bad is the drone if any? Sounds really good!

Yeah I do have a l99. The afm you can hear it switch over but It isn't to bad. And as for drone the very first day I had it I thought I could hear some but then I drove 250 + miles a few days later and I think I broke the exhaust in. I don't hear any drone. And the afm I plan on tuning out when I'm ready to get headers
