I think the other part of it for me is that I had way too much power for the stock tires, so stepping up to a 305 drag radial makes the car hook anytime I hit the gas.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't like them. I think there's too much sidewall and not enough wheel. I think a 19" would be the smallest I would do. The 19's that Nine Ball posted a couple of weeks ago looked great.

Are you talking about the drag radials? The fronts have the exact same sidewall height as stock 20's.

Yes, and the tires that you went down from. The tires on the front look fine. To me, 18's just look small on these cars. I think a 20" is just about perfect but these 19's look great too.

WOW, now that is quite the claim...some people say you drop a tenth maybe two with lightweight wheels, I didn't imagine it being that drastic

I mean driving around aggressively, not really full on 1/4 mile run. I haven't done one of those yet, I'm guessing I will gain over half a second in the quarter and a couple mph. From the light weight wheels and because my best 60' on the stock tires was a 2.2 or so.

Just wanted to update this.
My current street set up is the same fronts but I swapped to 335/30 18 BFG Gforce KDW rears, so I added a little more weight. This set up is only 60 lbs lighter than stock. I also ordered some 18x10 F14s for the front w/ 295/30 18 BFG Gforce KDW. This will also increase my weight to only 46 lbs lighter than stock. Here is all the wheel/tire weights I have compiled. 33.3 lbs 18x4 CTS-V spare w/ 185/50 18 M&H front runners 44.5 lbs 18x8.5 F14 w/ 245/45 18 no name tires 48.2 lbs 18x11 F14 w/ 315/30 18 Hoosier drag radials 51.3 lbs 18x10 F14 w/ 295/35 18 BFG G-force T/A KDW 53.0 lbs 18x10 F14 w/ 285/40 18 Goodyear F1 Supercar 53.5 lbs 18x11 F14 w/ 315/40 18 Nitto NT05R drag radials 54.5 lbs 18x11 F14 w/ 295/40 18 Falken Azenis RT-615K 56.6 lbs 18x11 F14 w/ 335/30 18 BFG G-force T/A KDW 62.3 lbs 20x8 Stock wheel w/ 245/45 20 Pirelli 68.0 lbs 20x9 Stock wheel w/ 275/40 20 Pirelli

Since I have the v6 I thought less rotational mass would help with some acceleration. Saying all this and knowing you have a better understanding than I. What would you go with for a daily driver using 18" rims. Would it be Nurburgring or Forgestar? Also could I go with 18X10's on the rear and not have it stick out.

The Nurburgrings wheels are a lot cheaper and if you don't want a custom size and offset I would definitely run those. I think the Forgestars look a little better and I wanted a custom size that TSW wheels don't have. If you want the lightest wheels I would go with some 18x8 all the way around on some 245 tires. The aspect ratio is up to you. I ran a 45 ratio and the tire was 26.7" tall, you can also run a 50 ratio (27.6" tall) or a 55 ratio (28.6" tall). The latter will give you stock size so it won't affect your speedo the other sizes your speedo will be off by 3.6% and 7% respectively. If you want a little more width you can run a wider tire, a 255 or even 265, but remember wider tires are heavier. If you want to go a bit wider you can run 18x9.5 all the way around with up to a 295 or as narrow as a 275. Again the aspect ratio is up to you. The lower aspect ratio will be lighter and handle better, but it will lower your car , increase fender gap and throw your speedo off. If you want to go absolute widest all around you would have to go 18x10 Forgestars, which is what I am doing. I am not a fan of staggered set ups, but you could do a 18x8 front and 18x9.5 rear Nurburgring. Or if you want to go SUPER DUPER wide you can run 18x10 front and 18x11 rear Forgestars.
