There was another thread recently about this... as most people will tell you the water blades are not a good idea:

I love mine. Works great just DO NOT PRESS HARD. Just let it glide and remove the majority of the water. Been using them for years. Car looks great cleaned up.

Oh hell no! I used to use a squeege to dry my black truck a few years ago and one time there was a small rock or something on the surface and it made a big scratch on the hood. Might as well use a pocket knife.

Water blades do what they do well by cutting your paint.

silver is the best possible color to have on a car in terms of hiding swirls. if your car were black you would see so many imperfections in your paint that it would make you vomit (since you use a squeegee).

Anything moving against your paint with any pressure can leave a mark. Some will even tell you tags left on their buffing towls have left a mark.

I use a leaf blower. I have my car completely dry in a matter of a few minutes and nothing has touched the paint. You also get the "hidden" water in your side markers, tail plate, door sills, etc.

Word.

Gets the water out of the mirrors, door jams, body seems etc etc

Then....use a waffle weave drying towel from a good on line detailing outlet. While you are drying, use a quality quick detailer to lubricate the surface.

I wouldn't use a water blade to dry my lawn mower.

Right on. Forced air, quality waffle weave towels. That's the way to go.

I hate when people say silver hides swirls. It is more that they have no idea what to look for, I can spot a defect in both my silver vehicles without using any special lights, tools and what not.

What should be said is that swirls are more visible in black to the un-trained eye.
