Help with scratches

My Camaro is a 2011 in Victory Red. I bought a PC and polishes from Chemical Guys. I got their V38, V36, and Mirrior Wet polishes. I also got their Hex-Logic orange, white, and black pads. I wathced alot of thier videos and others on the forum. I still have scratches and it is driving me crazy. Am I missing something or are do these products just suck? The scratches are not deep and are in the clear coat for sure. I used over the counter clay from Mothers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It takes time and patience,it took me two weekends to get the majority of scratches out my new 13.Guess what I still have a few that needs attention but I am the only one that can spot them.

Take your time and work small sections and you will achieve what you are looking for.

I had no luck with the adams big foam pads. So i went to the 4" foucus pads and work awesome. Never going to use big pads again. Dont know if you can get 4" hex logic pads.

V36 also doesn't have much cut at all, if you like CG look at V32, or Menzerna FG400/1000, M101/M105, Optimum Hyper Compound Spray

The 7" pads especially on a Porter Cable are just too big, you can look up 4" hydrotech's from Autogeek, the Cyan ones have great cut as well as the Tangerine.

There's no way M101 is needed on a brand new camaro unless it was washed with steel wool., m105/205 would make a lot more sense.

I would assume so. I have never heard good things about CG polishes. In fact I've heard nothing but bad things. And that megs combo is one of THE gold standards in polishing.

That being said, the guys are right when they say 7" pads are too big for a PC. You want 5.5" pads for any real correction. That's the perfect size for a PC.

What is your technique? That is probably the number one cause of poor results. I've never used CG's polishes so I can comment but I find it hard to believe they suck bad enough to not work. They may not be as efficient as others but they have to work.

From what I've read is they are quite weak in terms of cut, except for V32 but even still it doesn't compare to the products that have been around for quite a while.

But good question, he may not be using enough passes or pressure to make a noticeable difference.
