Calling it done

You guys who have done a lot of modding ever just called your car done, as in saying it's just what you planned to do and now you're just going to enjoy it? I have a 2011 SS with a KB supercharger, LT headers, Daves interchiller, cat back and a good dyno tune, Weld wheels and Michelin super sports that I'm saying it's done... no more stuff. It can't get traction with what I have and I love it just like it is.

I think that's what gets some of us in trouble.. we have no plan on what we want our cars to be and stick with the plan. We just keep building until our cars are unstreetable or problematic.

I can drive my car on a 1000 mile trip and have no troubles and that's what I want. I'm pretty sure I can handle the occasional smart a$$ along the way.

This make any sense?

Makes perfect sense. I still have a lot I want to do on mine but time and money have slowed those goals.

What about visual modds. Stripes, heritage grill, body kit, extra. And what about some suspension work? Thicker roll bars, springs anything?

There's always more to do. Lol.

I have a plan, roughly anyway. Exterior is nearly done. I just need a heritage grill. They there's the interior. All I'm doing on the inside is custom seats with black leather and burgundy suede inserts and doing the door and dash trim in burgundy also. Then I can start on the engine, (intake, LTs, cat back, and possibly boost), finishing up with some suspension, (nothing drastic, just antiroll bars, strut tower bars and chassi bracing). I don't think I want to mess with the ride height, so I don't thing I'll do springs. If I mess with the height, I'll have to get different rims.

Sadly, at the rate I can afford parts, I'll be 90 by the time I'm finished.

I agree with Mike SVX- you still have plenty more to do. Lowering the car with 315's on the back and 275's on the front totally changed how my car handled. Huge difference. How about forging the internals so your engine can handle the extra power/boost?

I am, however, at the point you say because I did all this stuff at once, and by an extremely good builder (Lingenfelter).

I'm not that into cosmetic stuff that much. I did, however add a custom fiberglass hood with a larger cowl area to fit the Maggie height much better. I guess I did get one cosmetic item by getting the Maggie chromed.

It's a L99. 550tq and 540 hp on a supposedly stingy dyno.

I'm thinking the samething as you. I have an L99 with a kb and putting down about 580hp, conservative tune since its a daily driver(100 miles a day). Recently I went to the long beach grand prix and me Lou president of LG motorsports before he raced. He basically convinced me to get LG motorsport headers

This site has driven me to get upgrades that I told myself I would never do since I had a truck with 200hp before lol...like they say you can never have enough!

My car is going to visit Livernois some time in the next few weeks to get a Maggie I think I'm pretty much done with performance mods after that. Maybe I'll do some suspension mods at some point, and maybe some new wheels, but I think 500+ rwhp is more than enough to get 'er done on the street. Famous last words, I know

I don't think we are ever done, we are satisfied for a while then something new comes along or we just want a little more power and it starts again.
