DRL Replacement

I'm looking into replacing my factory DRL lights because it bugs me how cheap they look when I know how my car looks when the halos or HIDs are on. I found the AAC option, but those are $100 which seems like an awful lot to spend on a couple bulbs. Also, there seems to be an option for halo DRLs which is only $20 more if I'm reading it correctly. I could also go with some cheaper ones off amazon, but I'm equally concerned about those for obvious reasons. So my question is basically is this upgrade worth the $100? Or has someone gone the cheapskate route and worked out just fine?

Another issue I'm a little torn on is getting the harness to make the halos the DRLs and have the DRLs come on with the headlights. On one hand, I really wish the halos were the DRLs but I also like the look of when only the headlights are on at night.

I replaced my factory light housings with some non rs ones and put in some 5000k hids from ebay...so far so good. I also got the harness to make them work with the halos. I am more then happy with it all.

The only problem with buying them from ebay is you can not exchange them if and when they fail. AAC and Gen5Dyi both have lifetime warranties. I have had this bulbs since 2009, and have replaced them a few times with no issues from either company.

Just make sure all your LED's on the sides of the post are still working, sometimes you can't tell unless you look. They are the ones that fail. They look like the same bulb, I had both fail and bought them July 2013, running a harness too. On my 2010 SS I replaced them twice in 4 years, so I am just saying given my past experience, it's not if but when. I also put 70,000 miles on my SS, it's a daily driver as is my 1LE now. This is what I have now, they look great just like everyone is saying. I will say the ebay ones you can buy almost three sets for the same price, I just like to support fellow Camaro5 members.
