Just found this interesting, especially the Challenger SRT8 at under 40k including destination

This is what I've (and prob a lot of other people) been saying for years! I would take an SRT8 without all the bells and whistles for under $40K. It's basically a 1SS SRT8. I just wish they had done this years ago.

Very nice indeed, with a list price of $39,999.00 I would imagine you could get into the car for 37-38k. If I were to purchase another though I would want the options my car had rather than the base car.

It is a nice package indeed.

But no HIDs or fog lights is a deal breaker for me.

I am not seeing anywhere that says either of those is not included. Nasically cloth vs leather, probably a standard stereo instead of a touchscreen, black instead of body colored spoiler (I actually prefer this like on the 08-10 SRT8s. and the performance suspension is more than likely the non adjustable one from the Charger Superbee and that is where the savings come from.

I thought this was only happening in Australia. If you go to dodges web site it still shows the base 2013 at $45,000.00 with the same standard features as before.

Artivcle doesn't mention Austrailia only, but I don't believe they are available quite yet which is why they are not on the website, which is generally slow in updating anyways.

Read through here, it will tell you everything that is included and excluded on the Core models.

Picture is from the Chicago Auto Show.

Ahhhh, ok, thanks for the additional info. thing is those 2 things would be easy to upgrade and not too pricey and I wouldn't be surprised if they showed up as options anyway.

The new prices really change the value proposition. That's a lot of car for less than $40k! Perhaps in anticipation of the new SS sedan or whatever Chevrolet is going to call the G8/Commodore replacement.

Hmm, I don't know...

I still really like the full blown SRT Charger. The interior and body mods do it for me.
