Painting Exhaust Pipes

Hello,
I have been doing some reading on the forums in regards to various painting options but one thing that I am still trying to confirm is benefit.
I was hoping to get a quick answer before I start today.
I just got in my Flowmaster AMT Catback system. Before I install it, I was considering doing a heat/protective paint on the pipes.

Are there any protective benefits or issues to consider on this?

Much appreciated

Isn't it stainless steel? If it is, that should be protective enough.
