Fun car to drive

Picked up the car last Wednesday, what a fun car to drive, I been dealing with slightly low temps. I have been driving mostly in mode 3, unfortunately I have to go back to work tomorrow, I have been trying to respect the break in period.

I have about 400 miles so far but the temps keep dropping. The car seems to drive fine even with the temperature in the upper 30's through low 40's, I drive in the 30-40 MPH range until the tires heat up a little, in the afternoon the temperature been in the 50's.

I drove mine back from northwest Arkansas early this morning after visiting my son - it was only 28 when I left this morning (cooler than I was expecting when I headed up there on Friday), but I took it extremely easy until the temps warmed up a bit. Tires did fine, but I didn't push it at all until it warmed up above 40.

Congrats!
I went to see mine today. She just arrived at the dealer. I pick her up on Wednesday after the storm has subsided.

I'm looking at the pics I took today and have that same feeling... can't believe she's mine.

You are definitely in for a treat, just try to enjoy it as much as possible before it gets to cold for the tires.

Ive been wondering if anybody has driven their Z at temps under 40. Im thinking of giving it a try in the morning. I leave for work so early that its been right at 40 when I leave. Then it actually gets colder(around 38 or 39) but the car will be parked(at work) by then. By the time I get off work it will be in the 50's. So I will only have to DRIVE her 20 miles with the temp between 38 and 40. She stays in the garage at night and it doesnt get below 50 or so in there.Think Ill try it in the morning

Put on 380 miles last weekend with temps in the mornings around 36 and the power at these temps is amazeing, feels like another 100 hp added. Car worked great, but with foot into most of the day only averaged 9.7 miles per gallon. But it was fun.

Your ZL1 looks great! I've been driving in the hi 30's/low 40 temps as well. Work the night shift, get out anywhere between 2 and 4 am. So it's getting kinda cold, day time/afternoons its in the 50's when I go to work, but I've noticed when I get out of work in the early am hours, just barely touching the gas the tires spin like crazy. Takes a good 20 minutes for them to heat up and the tire pressure to start climbing. Tire pressure is around 29/30 in the wee cold hours, 31/32 warm afternoons, but 20/25 minutes into my ride they reach 35/36 psi. Then they start to stick like glue, usually take my u shaped exit at 75mph and try not to touch the brakes. The problem at nite is dew/condensation from the temp change. A very thin layer of moisture on the road and the closer to that 32 degree mark, the slipperier it gets. Anyway, I'm sure you're having a blast breaking-in your new ZL1. I try to do a 100 miles in each mode. Touring, sport, and each PTM. Misting out last Sunday, the beginning of hurricane sandy, so I tried out PTM 1, wet conditions, "the nanny" mode. Interfered plenty, but it was still a lot of fun even though I didn't tach it over 4,000. Good luck with your new ride, looks like we're both trying to get thru the break-in period before winter set in.

You can see the security shack (top right corner) thought the blue lights were going to chase me out of there for sure, snapped a couple photos and got the heck out of there! Probably wouldn't appreciate me driving across their lawn.
