If it was my $30,000 plus car without question i would at least take it in and have the dealership take a look at it and see if your warranty will be honored, no harm in asking

This is a pretty common observation with the Corvette. Most times the dealer adds a bottle of the GM additive and the noise subsides. In some cases if the noise is awful it may need extra service, but for the most part the LSD additive takes care of the noise. I would definitely take the car to the dealer, even if you have a modified engine. They should take care of the issue, and even if they don't the worst they can say is no. Either way you haven't really lost anything. |

Mine almost sounds like an electric motor winding up, could this be that same sound?

When mine started making this noise last August, I bought the car in May, I had her in 3 times between August and December for a fluid and additive change, but the noise kept coming back, so the last time which was the end of December my mech decided to rebuild the diff, since then,Jan 5th, all has been great. I drive the car like it is supposed to be driven, hard and have been to the track twice for 6 runs down the 1320, so far, so good. Good luck man..

My dealer put a bottle in for me, free of charge. Haven't heard it since. Like Pfadt said, it's a common issue on the vettes and apparently ours are prone to it as well.

Mine did that, but after I put the RP in it. After 100 miles, I drained it, put the GM fluid back in with the 4oz of friction modifier (you need this) and havent had any issues since

Why would you drain the RP out and replace it again with the GM fluid? I am considering replacing both the transmission and rear diff with RP so I am just curious why you would go back. Thanks |
