2002 Vette vs 2010 Camaro SS

Hi Everyone,

My dad has a 02 Vette with exaust and cool air intake only done to it no other mods. My 2010 SS/RS is bone stock and we were both wondering which would win in the 1/4 mile. I only have 600 miles on mine so I am not trying to race it until the engine is broken in atleast. I have been reading this particular form a bit and there seems to be good contributers to both sides so I am wondering what you guys think?

Personally I can't tell and he can't either lol. When we took turns driving each others cars neither one of us could tell of a real edge. Maybe a drivers race?

BTW both are M6's

Should be close! I think the vette runs around a 13.2 stock so with those mods i'm sure he's into the 12's.

The Corvette would be the winner of that race as long as the driver knew how to drive. I have personally raced a new 2010 SS 6-speed manual with my 2000 FRC Corvette and took him out. Both drivers knew exactly when to shift so I feel confident with my answer. The Camaro is so heavy, much like the Challenger and Mustang. Graet cars just missing the mark due to weight.

It's not missing the mark because the mark was not designed to beat the Corvette in price and performance. It was designed to have more room and comfort at a lower price.

Does not mean modding wont make it a consistant winner in the quarter. Just the reality of the design and the market position. Sure they could of dumped more and more money into it and the price to make it win. Then they would have another set of problems.

My money is on the Camaro. The LS1 was a great motor but the power band of the LS3 is much better even in a heavier vehicle.
