Week 5/15 of giving up my life for a Camaro

A quick recap for those that havent followed my posts. Since I'm getting my 1lt RS SIM Camaro made and delivered for May 1 I got a second full time job to help pay more toward the downpayment. My regular job is mon-fri 8:00am-3:30 pm and my new job that I also work is mon-thurs 4:00 pm-2:00am. 17.5 hour working days for my dear Camaro

This week was pretty good. nothing much new but on thursday in the lunchroom we were talking about cars and stuff and I had told one guy there before that I was getting a new car, a LT Camaro to be exact. So he mentions to the other guys there that I'm getting a new V6 Camaro and the othere guys are like "you should get the V8 man." I said "well for 10k more I really dont even need that much power. Im not into racing or anything like that. 300hp is plenty for me." and one guy says "but its the principal of it though" I dunno, lol. Then another guy said how one of his buddies also was getting a new camaro and when his buddy told him it was a v6 he said he was like "pfft". This coming from a guy who drives a late 90s or early 2000s impala. He sure sets his standards high on other guy's cars but his own car isnt so sporty. Anyway. I dont care what they think, I dont need 2 cylinders for 10k more. the LT with RS is an awesome car.

Oh and as usual I was pretty tired by the end of the week with only 3-4 hours of sleep a night. I went to bed at 7 friday evening and didnt get up till noon saturday. now I think I'm caught up on my sleep and ready to get back to work monday to hack off another week before my new Camaro comes. Thanks again for all your support and encouragement here. you guys are great.

That's how I feel, sure having a V8 would be nice, sure a lot of people think it's mandatory to have a Camaro with a V8. Whatever, it's my car and I having a 2LT/RS makes me happy, so to all of the nay sayers out there, they can go fly a kite!

Agree...to heck with the naysayers. Get what you want! BTW...next time somebody discounts your choice of a V6, tell them the V6 in a Gen 5 will toast the 396 V8 in an Gen1 SS, the engine of choice outside of a COPO or a Z28.

Thumbs up

I admire your work ethic, stay strong! You'll really appreciate your car upon receiving it. Don't let the haters bug you, some people just have to try and make themselves feel better.

Doing good keep it up, I enjoy reading the updates. Your goal is getting closer, don't listen to your co-workers you know what you are working for and want and that is all that matters.

Screw those guys, it's YOUR car and will make tons of power compared to earlier generations.. You can only go so fast and race so many lights without getting pulled over anyway. With the RS package you're going to have a ride that, trust me, MANY will envy.. plus since you opted for v6 you'll pay it off just that much faster..

NO, the Rev limiter is not set to 118MPH... and YES, driving in this manner does affect MPG...

Amen to you brother! When I was 20 I was going to college and I landed a GREAT job. I tried juggling both, working 4am-2pm. Then school from 5pm-10pm. The thing about my job was, I also had to work a lot of weekends. (60+ straight days w/out a day off every summer)

Sometimes I had to work 16 hours and couldn't get off work until 8:30pm and headed to school late. Eventually I got suspended from college for 6 months but I never went back. Been working at the same job for 14 years now.

So I couldn't handle that schedule but I give you props for doing it for a Camaro. Good job!

Keep up the good work!!!!!!!! I have a 1LT RS and love it!!!!!!!! Fastest car that I have ever had. I have always liked a V6 for some reason. You have enough power when you need it and saves on gas. I have never been into racing either, and I have pushed the Camaro hard and it scared me a little. Just not use to having that power. I will admit that I probably would not be able to handle the V8 right now, it has a ton of power. Maybe down the road sometime. Anyways, keep on keeping on. You will have your baby sooner than you think.

The 2LT/RS is, indeed, an awesome car. Actually, better than awesome. It's got all the luxury with +300 hp and you can drive it year round. Also, it's great on gas (if you don't hammer the accelerator). The design is sexy as hell and what you're seeing is the envy of the masses.

Bah. Screw them.

Buy what you want, and you will NOT be disappointed. Chat with the other V6 drivers on here... you'll find they are all quite proud of their purchase, as they should be. You're buying an incredible car, designed and manufactured extremely well, and you're going to LOVE IT!

Congratulations on your order! Please continue your updates as many of us are cheering you on!!! We're proud of ya!!!
