Not a daily driver, what are you going for your insurance?

How many of you are using your Camaro as a daily driver? I'm buying mine as my fun car, it will never see rain or snow.

Because I'm using it as a collector car and not a daily driver I am insuring it through Hagerty Collector Car insurance company. I plan on putting less than 2K miles per year, my insurance is very reasonable, <$750/year.

Any body find a better insurance deal than that? If so please let me know what company is offering a better deal than that.

I've got Eerie Insurance, I'm 28, never had a ticket or accitent and I told them probably less than 8K a year. I'm also never driving in the rain or snow. But I did buy it to drive it, not sit in my driveway so I will drive it a good amount on sunny days, I just won't park it next to anybody

My insurance is a little over $700/year.

If it's financed you can't get the collectors insurance. So most people will have normal insurance.

Vash- that isn't true, I had to give my loan information to Haggerty.

The price I got from Haggerty was less than 1/2 of what my normal insurance company wanted. I've got a couple of speeding tickets but that is it. The insurance company I have my other 3 cars, boat, and house wanted $1,696/year. I was super happy to get insurance for under $750 as compared to $1,696!!

I just tried to go on-line and get a quote from Hagerty's and it would not allow any newer cars than 2000.

Halo- Call them on Monday, I seen the same thing but when I called them they agreed to insure my Camaro. They sent me a quote via e-mail and I had to fill out an online application. Maybe you can get a better deal based on what Superstock said. Hell the insurance on my 2005 Equinox is higher than the price he got from his insurance company. If you can't get a better deal I would suggest you call Hagerty.

toy as well, but we will put a few more miles on her than 2000.

State Farm Insurance......................$360/year for full coverage with 250000/500000/250000. that's no mileage limits.

also like the HD, we can put winter storage on it for almost nothing!

mine will be a daily driver during the summer since my other car doesnt have working AC :(

but once we hit mid September-beginning of October ill probably only be using it occasionally and by November it will be "in storage" sitting at my parents house.

so overall Im calling it a "pleasure driver" with geico. even with geico's mechanical breakdown insurance and another car mine is going to run 700 every 6 months.

No one really offers a "lay up" policy any more, but you can, by endorsement drop the collision and even liability coverage on the vehicle for the times it has been placed in storage. Your agent may balk at this a little, but it can be done.
