Gear choices?

I have seen some people talking about having a couple of different gear ratios...

Are we able to select a different gear ratio for our cars? I am ordering a 2SS/RS manual tranny, just curious if I missed something where I could have upgraded to a slightly more agressive gear ratio?

If I did and my dealer didnt say anything

You get 3.42 with the manual and 3.23 with the auto. I also saw someplace where a 3.70 something may be added later as an option.

Why all this later crap...don't us pre-order people get a choice anymore!!!! Will it be added as an option to us before it is too late?

But the question is...will they do that and let us choose, before us pre-order folks are locked into one? If I can get 3.70s I WANT THEM !! I dont want to pay some schmoe at the dealer $500 to change them a month after I get the car, I want them from the factory!

Later might be a month, it might be a year. Sure GM could have everything from 3.70s to the HUD ready for launch, if they spent more on development now, and delayed production until they had an even more complete package but they have a car ready to sell with a decent number of options right now. Really GM has an impressive amount of availible options for launch, and some good ideas on how best to continue development over the next year or so. Not an ideal situation for every buyer, but it is the smart way to plan a product cycle and actually make money in a competitive market.

Well I guess we will have the first year to see if the rearend can even hold up to increased HP. In my T/A I had to put in a 12 bolt anyway to put down the extra horsepower of a supercharger.

Wonder how much HP and TQ this rearend and gears will be able to handle.

With 750hp, is there such a thing as "normal driving"? You know they didn't drive it like a Prius. That would just be wrong.

To you and me yes that is just wrong but they could have tested like that on on just a rolling chasis mouted onto a dyno or something and said we ran 750 hp on it and it held up. Or we ran the hell out of it with 750 hp. We just dont know
