BRZ Experience

Hey all. I'm considering a BRZ as an alternative DD. I'd love to hear from folks about their experiences with this car. Pros/cons, etc. thanks in advance!

Me too. Not that I'm getting one but the fact that I hear it's nice sports car to DD.

I heard it was underpowered, but I can't speak from experience. I can say that they look nice in person.

See, this is what I'm wondering. But it's so darn light, I'm curious.

I would drive one - under powered to one is the right mix to another

A couple of guys have them on here. Or maybe it's the fr-s, I can't remember.

They are neat looking cars, I'd consider one for a DD if I didn't need my truck.

Isn't that the Toybaru? I hope Chevy comes out with a competitor for it....

The Camaro is not its competitor.... They have a couple concepts, code 130R and Tru 140 that would be though.

My brother and I went to Scion to check the FR-S and the car seems nice but it might be somewhat small if you are a tall person. I haven't seen the Subaru model but I'm guessing they are almost identical from the inside.

My roommate has an FR-S. I am 6'4" and I fit just fine actually. Yes, it feels a bit light on power, but the handling is very good and you can break the rear end free very easily. He has the automatic and gets 36mpg regularly on the highway, and high 20's in the city, so definitely fine for a DD.

The next Camaro is going to be smaller, which might put it in the same category. Obviously, the Camaro will be anchored by V6 and V8 performance that will both give excellent performance. For more budget-oriented buyers, I can imagine GM offering a turbo-4 to fight and win against these buyers in the same price range. Keep in mind that the BRZ and FR-S start around $25k, pretty close to what a 2015 Camaro LS might cost.
