FYI, there's other seats available on the market that are nicer and perhaps for less. Ask me how I know.

There are tons of options in the aftermarket. I suppose "nicer" is subject to opinion, but there are definitely lighter seats that will save much more weight than the factory recaro's save over the normal seats.

I like these particularly. They are only 20 lbs each. SUPER comfortable. Carbon fiber backing...

These are a bit pricier ($1700 ea) but are available without the carbon backing for cheaper ($1100 ea). Thats just one example. There is a LOT of different seats on the market.

This is the only con. The stock seats DO have an airbag in them and without the airbag, you will set off the light. There are easy ways around it, but sometimes I need to remind myself what most people in this particular niche/industry/group/market want, and tricking the SIR system is probably not one of them...

BTW, for the record, I LOVE the new recaro's. Really, they are great looking seats and I am sure they hold you in place pretty good. I am just spreading the word to the '10-'13 folks that they are not the only available option.

All that is more or less hear say, but whatever, my question is what real weight reduction will the offer, price becomes a little negligible to me if the weight is down enough and they are comfortable enough for a DD.
They are power on both sides...

There are part numbers for the individual components, not the whole seat.
