Tracking your railcar?

Hey, I've started tracking through the UP number now since it seems to have he best and latest info (WY today!) and it says there's an ETA 9/29 at 8am, Industry. Is that City of Industry in southern Ca? I thought so but does it make sense since I'm in northern Cali, sort of, that it would come by truck from there?

UP is great, I even tried the fax copy lol my ETA is 9/28 at 7:45 am, but didn't tell me a specific location. My dealer told me it is mira loma, which is on their map. I hope we get our cars by this weekend!

It seems that maybe I wasn't given a location either... but I'm still not sure what the automated person means by saying "Industry"...

Since I work Thursdays-Mondays I'm just hoping I have the car Monday night. Would be a good start to my weekend. When the car arrives at my dealership they're sposed to install the "ambient lighting kit" accessory for me too so I imagine that'll take an extra day maybe two.

Mine departed CSX yesterday at 10:39 AM. It was in Hamilton Ontario at 6:38 AM this morning that puts it about 80 miles northwest of Buffalo, NY enroute to Brookfield MA yard. Not the fastes train on the planet thats for sure. Took almost a full day to go 70 miles so far.

My message this AM said: "placed at industry: current status"failure to unload". I think this may mean, my railcar has gone from "constructively placed" to a point at the DC railyard where said railcar is waiting to be unloaded. At least that's what I hope it means; but, ya never know!

So, Sonictronic, you may be at that same status as well????...definitely just a guess, though. Railroad terminology is like a foreign language for the most part, at least to me anyway.

yes, that's why I said what I did waaaaay back in the beginning of this thread. It very much surprised me that your car would have to go from OKC to Dallas via transport truck.

But, in retrospect, maybe the DC there ships only outgoing vehicles from the Arlington GM plant? Dunno....the whole rail transport gig never fails to amaze me...LOL!

So does anyone know? My car was on csx and the recording says loaded at the interchange in Gibson and has since Sunday. Since it is coming west to Utah shouldn't it switch to UP there. Should I still be tracking via csx. Or switch to UP. When I call UP it says no record found and promptly hangs up on me. Should it be stuck in Gibson for this long. If anyone knows? Thanks

It's normal to be there for a couple days. You can track it via CSX or UP all the way- but UP will give more thorough and up to date information where CSX gets stuck behind a bit on their info.

Just talked to my dealer. He said my car is on a truck and they're expecting a truck tomorrow morning. He said it's probably on there. If it is he said it'd be ready by early afternoon.

Why do some people not want the dealership to PDI their car??
I can kind of see if you're OCD, but looking at cars on the lot it doesn't look like they have issues getting them cleaned up properly... Never had that issue. Meh! I gotta stop reading this forum until I get my car- maybe tomorrow!

Yep it shows it there from Sunday but with no delivery date

Keep checking that. Once it has a delivery date you can call UP.
